Introducing... MangaDex!

First we brought you AniDex, now we are releasing MangaDex!

As bato.to is closing, there is a need for a similar site which allows public uploading of scanlated manga.
MangaDex will be a scanlator orientated site, similar to AniDex and fansub groups.

All the essential functions have now been completed, therefore MangaDex is ready for release. Further improvements will be coming in due course.

Feel free to post suggestions about updates!

Mousemats (August 2016)

Once again, mousemats are coming back in August! The following will be available:

  • Mousemats (24cm/30cm)
  • Boobmats
  • Cushion covers

An even larger range of designs will be available this time. However, I would like you to comment below to give me an idea of specific shows/characters you would like me to stock.

Pricing will be similar to previous years, however, there will be special discounts for some seedbox subscribers. I haven’t decided what those will be yet, but will give more information later.

Thanks for supporting us!

Update: We have chosen 3 winners! They are as follows:

Get in touch by email to claim your prize! (A mousemat of your choice from my remaining stock.)

A bunch of others have also been selected to go into rotation.

I’ll let Jakeman95 update this post with his Kabaneri winner.

My winner for the Kabaneri banner is as follows:

Come find me on IRC (jakeman95) or email holo and he’ll pass it on to me.  Make sure to include the email you used for the comment in the message so we can verify, and let me know whether you’d like a GPlay or Steam card!

This site now uses SSL!

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted here.

I’ve made a major update to the site. It now uses SSL. You should see a green lock on your browser.
(All other sites run by me will also receive this update, such as Fansubdb and Anidex.)

For those of you who don’t understand what this means, don’t worry too much. It just means that the NSA is less likely to be able to spy on your browsing habits while coming to Doki.

Anyway, my PhD is almost over, and when that happens, I’ll return to clear all the backlog.

Thanks for your continued support!

Edit: In light of https breaking certain things like RSS readers and toasters, I have switched back on http so you can access the RSS feeds etc via http. Links within the blog will redirect you to https, however. This should be a good enough compromise.

Fansub.co needs help!

Hybrid_Being needs some help with adding comparisons to fansub.co for the new season.

If you’re interested, drop me an email at [email protected]

All you need to know is how to demux releases and take screenshots in Aegisub.

Banner Competition (with prizes!)

Update: The winners for the regular banners are MrGS, enussi, and Darkflamemaster. Honourable metnion goes to Yuuiki, whose banner received the most votes among the staff but seems to be strangely vetoed by Holo (at least I haven’t rolled it once). Please check your email inboxes for instructions to receive your prize!

Holo edit: It’s definitely there!

Happy 5th Birthday, Doki!

Another year passes by… Now we’re 5 years old! It’s quite a feat really, considering how many groups I have seen form and disappear during these past 5 years. You could probably count on one hand the number of groups older than us and still actively releasing stuff regularly.

Personally, I am quite busy with my PhD (1 more year to go), so I don’t have much time to do stuff on here anymore. So a big thanks must be given to the Project Leaders of Doki, who keep the releases coming.

Despite efforts to consign us to history by certain people in the fansub scene, you guys haven’t forgotten about us, and your support keeps us going day after day.

So a big thanks to all you fans out there! May this coming year be as successful and fruitful as the past five!

PS: Pic related.
