Well, unfortunately for you English-speakers, the website is only in Japanese. That’s why I’m here to give you a translation of what they posted on the website about the preview! Now, for the next piece of business: translator notes! As Ritsuko says at one point in this episode, “That’s quite a mixture[ of references]…” Allow me to explain every single reference mixed in at that point.

“With our little grey cells”: reference to a catchphrase of Hercule Poirot, a detective from Agatha Christie novels.
“and seven-colored faces”: reference to the tokusatsu series “Nana-iro Kamen“. It is a mystery series and often cited as one of the inspirations for Cutie Honey.
“in the name of our Grandmother and Grandfather”: reference to a catchphrase of Kindaichi Hajime, the main character from the mystery series Kindaichi Case Files.
“in the name of the moon”: reference to Sailor Moon’s catchphrase. The only reference NOT to a detective work.

Hiya! Firstly, apologies for the delay on last week’s episode. I committed a cardinal sin of fansubbing by putting my social life first, and snuck off to a friend’s to watch movies, dance to ABBA, and eat pizza. :’D Sorry I kept you waiting! I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Episode number nine! It doesn’t seem like long ago that we started this series, but the last however many weeks have absolutely flown by, and suddenly we only have two left. A big thanks to Caly, Psi and Holo for sticking with me this far, and to all of you for giving up twenty minutes of your time each week to watch our show. ^_^ I’ve loved watching it, and I hope you all have too!
This episode opens with a big storm brewing. In most shows, this would probably be cause for death / crisis / epic drama. In Usagi Drop, it’s simply cause for…well…more of the gentle, adorable sweetness the series has been full of to this point! Yes, there’s a reason I really like this show. ^_^ Hope you enjoy the episode as much as I did!
