By the way, the NCOP and NCED were encoded with insane overkill (CRF 15). Their file sizes are no indication of the actual episodes. Ie, the OP itself in Episode 1 won’t take up 150 MB and the ED won’t take up 180 MB.
Update: ETA until Episode 1: the .m2ts for episode 1 is 100% complete! Expect a release in an hour or two.
1080p (h264): [Doki] Clannad – NCED (1920×1080 h264 BD FLAC) [91DAED43].mkv
720p (h264): [Doki] Clannad – NCED (1280×720 h264 BD AAC) [56DDDBFF].mkv
480p (XviD): [Doki] Clannad – NCED (848×480 XviD BD MP3) [2CAE3E4C].avi

You’re not gonna chapter this shit? *_*
Assuming that you were gonna keep the OP ED as they are at 150 + 180mb, if you don’t chapter you are wasting 7920mb of our space, for the tiny improvement in transitions, and the reduced possibility of a chapter encoding fucking up.
Are you trolling?

Perfect. Absolutely Perfect!@!
Arigato! Keep doing it like you did Kanon that was Awesome. Who cares about the extra space, this is Clannad were talking about. it deserves the best!@
Who cares about the extra space with all the Terabytes HDD out there. People complaining, get a new hard drive damnit! We are talking about CLANNAD!!

I didn’t particularly feel like pulling some random numbers out of my ass, so I used what was already there and prefaced it with assuming, as that is what we do in maths…
Why would you assume something that I have said that I am not going to do? Assuming that I am encoding at CRF15, then yes, they will be that big, but I already said that I encoded these with insane overkill, which I am not going to do in the episodes.
trolololol-san is a bad clannad troll fan.
Yeah, at least for me it doesn’t matter if Clannad would take overall of 100 gigabytes of space, IT’S CLANNAD GOD DAMN! hm… CRF 15 for ED, nice overkill 😀 CRF 17-18 would’ve been just fine, but you can never get too much quality when we’re talking about Clannad right? 🙂 but yeah, you can always do an overkill, but… as with this, bigger is better than too small :p
Umm… I just downloaded the 1080p version which got ready, and when I started to watch it, I noticed that it lags when karaoke is turned on. And I don’t have an ancient computer, my computer has C2Q Q9550, 6 gb of ram etc. (default clocks, but still, not slow), otherwise good, but I’d like to watch that ED with karaoke too^^
could you maybe do something to it? Re-encode with better settings or something? or I can just download 720p too if it would work better, but.. oh well :p otherwise good work, maybe quality was just a little too high this time, I don’t know, you know these things probably better than I do 🙂 Hm, I guess I’ll try out something with that if I get it to work a little smoother =) oh, and sorry for the double post 😡
For all those that have trouble with performance watching 1080p and happen to have nVidia graphics card, buy/download/whatever CoreAVC – it uses nVidia power to decode FullHD. My old fashioned slow-as-hell Core 2 Duo is utilised at 5% with that beast. Everything is smooth as it gets.
M.
Thanks Mati, I’ll try that! 😀
CoreAVC works GREAT! Like Mati suggested, if you have nVidia graphic card go
buy/ download (*wink wink*) it!If you don’t have a NVidia card, as long as your GFX card supports bit streaming (basically any ATI card from last year or so) go get MPC-HC and find a tutorial on how to setup DXVA.
I haven’t ever seen my CPU get to 5% on soft subbed kara that has effects on a full HD 1080p release. =P
@trolololol-san: Since when DXVA bit streaming with MPC-HC works with softsubs? When I was studying the topic, it was impossible to put subs on the image output from the GFX back then, because there was no filter layer AFTER the bitstream rendering to put the subs. If that is possible now, it’s way cool! Should work on nV too.
clannad ep1 is coming out already? that was fast! but what about the rest of the show that has yet to receive xvid counterpart?
Yeah, now I remember that DXVA thing, I’ll try that soon if it that works^^ I just hope that it’ll work with the softsubs too… and I have ati gpu, HD 5770, if the DXVA works well with everything, then it’d be awesome =) I can also try (and I will try) that CoreAVC, I already have it on my computer, so I can just try it out…
Btw, I know something about encoding too, I just encoded that NCED 1080p video with MeGUI using CRF 15, and guess what was the bitrate? well, 13.6 Mbps^^ maybe that’s more than too much, in my opinion at least 😀 something like 5-7 Mbps would’ve been enough too^^
Just a reminder incase you forgot, Mayoi XviD’s weren’t put out
I like a few episodes of this show, namely the tomoyo chapter, but no matter how high the visual quality, I don’t think it comes close to the visual novel. But im very grateful for your release because it gives people the chance to experience Clannad.
I haven’t forgotten about the XviDs, they are just on the back burner atm.
Yea the episodes will probably done with CRF 17.
Yeah, I think I somehow get that DXVA working, yatta x) I used this site’s helpful instructions to do everything, -> http://imouto.my/watching-h264-videos-using-dxva/ and sound doesn’t lag anymore while played with karaoke on. Karaoke lags in some places, but I think it’s because I set that “maximum texture resolution” to Desktop, and I have 1920×1080 resolution on my monitor, mm, I’ll probably test it with lower resolution :p in default it was 800×600 if I remember correctly… blehh. Btw, sorry for this long posts^^
Okay, so I’m really really sorry to spam this way… I’m not gonna continue this long, but anyway, as with someone said, it’s true, that DXVA does make the video a “little” brigher… too much for me I’d say, might now test out that CoreAVC =) Below are some comparision which I made…
DXVA: http://i41.tinypic.com/107npcj.jpg
played normally: http://i43.tinypic.com/30nbuir.jpg
So yeah, there is difference^^
This is my last post about this thing… and I promise not to spam this much in the future 🙂 but yeah, I sorted it out, the karaoke and video plays as smoothly when played normally as with when played DXVA, when you’ll change one thing…
If I play karaoke on trough DirectVobSub, then karaoke and video’s sound lags, but if I select DirectVobSub (auto-loading version) in the External Filters and block it, well I don’t really have to block it, since it doesn’t work to begin with, without putting it manually to there and choosing “prefer”, but for someone else it’s necessary to use block, I think…
umm, and then just go to Playback and select “Auto-load subtitles”, then karaoke doesn’t lag and everything plays normally without using DXVA, good damn I feel like a biggest spammer in the world now… this post wasn’t necessary either, but I just wanted to say this eh, anyway, thanks for the releases and sorry for me being an idiot =/
hey, i’m a bit of a noob when it comes to torrents and i’m confused about ‘ncep’ and ‘ncop’
which one should i download? or do i have to download both or something?
thanks!
NCOP = The opening intro that plays at the start of each episode, without credits (No Credits OP)
NCED = The ending clip that plays after each episode (No Credits ED)
You don’t “have to” download either one of those. You can download them if you want to watch them, but regardless of whether you’ll do it or not, they’ll be included in the actual episodes when Doki releases them.
