Clannad (Blu Ray) – v2s

Clannad (BD)v2

The ED Karaoke issue has been fixed. There was an error in the encoding the first time round; this has been corrected.

Episode 1 and 2 will be released tomorrow.

I plan finish releasing Clannad within 2 weeks.

Other airing shows are kinda stalled until TL shows up again, so please don’t ask.

First comment! Bow down to me, you insignificant people.

“I plan finish releasing Clannad within 2 weeks.”
Great news. I’m looking forward to 1080p version. Good luck Holo.

Has the video file, itself, been changed since v1, or is it simply a remux of the fixed karaoke with the old video?
Taking into account that there’s also a v2 for the OP, I’m going to assume the former and just start downloading; but please tell me if it is the latter, regardless.

    Nice man, can’t wait.

    THANK YOU!!

  • Perfect Chaos

Nevermind my last inquiry. I didn’t notice how this one has a much smaller file size.
The video quality doesn’t look even a bit worse, though, so that’s good.
Now I’m wondering why you changed it to have karaoke on by default, though. Just something I’m curious about…

Nice! Thanks for the Clannad v2s. Looking at the 1080p screenshot comparisons is like getting an eye exam. *moves mouse on and off the images* “Is this better or worse? Better or worse?” “Ummm, I think Doki’s is a little sharper…”

  • Perfect Chaos

If you think that then you must be seeing things. Holo thinks that CoalGirls over-sharpens their releases, thus exposing a lot more pixelation. He says he’s not going to go overboard with the sharpening tool, and is keeping it closer to the source.
On a different note, for some reason, I’m able to skip around the v1 OP/ED much more fluently than I can for the v2, despite the v1 being significantly bigger in file size. The v2, when I skip to any random point, it plays the audio first, then the video (they are still in sync, it’s just that the video won’t be shown for the first half a second after the point you skip to). I just found that strange.

Will there be v2s for the 480p versions, or does the problem only affect the HD versions?

  • enthralled

    Thanks!
Tomorrow is in 24 hours since this post, right? …right??

Why haven’t you added Thora to the comparison? Imo Thoras release was better than CoalGirlss,

  • Holo

Because I thought THORA looked near identical to CGi. Also I’ve not downloaded the THORA release yet.

Yea leaving the karaoke track on default is an oversight on my part, but its not that much of a big deal is it 😛

I don’t know why you can skip around the v1 easier than you can the v2 lol.

it still come with insane ovekill encoding? nice one, guys….:)

  • Sonosuke

    In 2 weeks? awesome!

  • Ryanneezy

Hm, I was wondering how would this compare to the THORAnime version? Will this 1080p version of clannad have higher video/audio quality + bonus features and the such? Also what subs are being used?
