Time for an all round update. Btw I’ll post up my pics of Japan on my blog at some point.
Anyway, down to business. The next season (Autumn 2010) will start soon. I am in my third and final year of uni now, which means I have to work more and fansub less. Releases from myself may be less frequent than they have been up til now.
Blu-Ray Shows
B Gata H Kei
- 1-12 has been translated, timed and being edited. Awaiting encode.
Kiss x Sis (Holo’s project)
- 4-5 are awaiting encode.
- 6+ need TL, but at this rate we’ll probably borrow Ryuumaru’s translation to use as source.
Mayoi Neko Overrun (Holo’s project)
- All episodes translated, just awaiting for the Blu-Ray to all be released.
Saki (Jecht’s project)
- 9-10 @ TS.
- 11@ Edit.
- 12+@ Time.
Seikon no Qwaser (Holo’s project)
- 09-12 @ Dmon.
- 13-16 @ Wait for BD Encode.
- 17+ @ TL.
Senkou no Night Raid (Jecht’s project)
- 10-13 @ Edit + QC + Rel.
- 06+ (BD) waiting for Vol.
Seto no Hanayome (Holo’s project)
- 02-03 @ Release.
- 04+ @ Gyzome for edit etc.
Summer 2010 Shows
Campanella (Holo’s project)
- Batch pending.
- Yes, we are doing the Blu-Rays.
Seitokai (Holo’s project)
- Finding a TL for this show seems futile… I guess we will have to use Ryuumaru’s TL as source and release Blu-Rays.
Asobi (Jecht’s project)
- We will finish and batch.
- Yes, we are doing the Blu-Rays.
Autumn 2010 Shows
TBC
- We plan to only pick up 1 show, due to lack of time on my part and the amount of backlogs Jecht and I have to complete. We hope to get rid of the backlog before Christmas.
- We have ideas on what show it is likely to be, but for now we won’t be revealing it.
Regarding mkvmerge 4.3.0
Read this.
Solution?
Get rid of whatever player you are using, and download K-Lite Codec Pack. At the time of writing, 6.4.0 is the latest version.
Alternatively, download CCCP. At the time of writing, 2009-09-09 is the latest version. A beta version is available as well. Thanks to Narru for pointing this out.
Use Media Player Classic which comes with both of these codec packs. I guarantee that it will be able to play anything that gets thrown at it.
Please note that we do not provide support for any other players, so if you insist on using something else, please don’t bug us if something doesn’t work.
If you are among the minority, and use Linux, then change to Windows like the rest of the world… J/k. Just follow these instructions by anon.

1. Download, compile, build, and install the latest mplayer svn from mplayer’s main site:
2. (Optional, but I did it) Download and install the latest smplayer by adding smplayer’s repo to your sources.list in /etc/apt/
3. Reboot (might as well)
4. ???
5. Profit
Also (I have no idea what this means btw)…

I had problems getting this play using mplayer.
A mkvinfo shows something new:
+ Content encodings
+ Content encoding
+ Content compression
+ Algorithm: 3 (header removal)
A search came up with a solution, use:
mplayer -demuxer lavf
Apparently re-muxing the file using a pre 4.x version of mkvmerge also works.
Servers and Donations
It’s time for a server upgrade. As you some of you may have experienced, at release times, the blog tends to lag for ages. This is because the website is hosted on a celeron server (100 Mbits), which also hosts Doki|Kotomi as well as other sites.
I plan to upgrade to a i7-2T server with a 1 GBit connection to host the blog and more bots. The monthly cost will be 82 GBP, which is around 120 USD. A part of this sum (30-40 USD) will be met from DDL money, so I only ask for 80-90 USD in donations.
I will also be upgrading our other server, from 500 GB celeron to a 4 TB celeron, but all monthly costs incurred will be met by myself and Arigold.
All set up costs will be raised by selling anime mousemats. Selling 10 mousemats successfully will cover the cost of setting up 1 server, so ideally, I need to sell 20. More information regarding that will be posted later.
Doki is nearly 1 year old now, and we wouldn’t be here without your continued support, so as always, we are thankful to all our fans out there.
Also, happy birthday Isumi! (Sunny wanted me to say this.)
