Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki - Vol 3

Looking for a new phone. Is the HTC One M8 any good? Or should I get the Nexus 6 (or Note 4)?

Okay Doki real talk now. What is going on with Amagi Brilliant Park? You’re a month behind now with episode 1.

I love the design of the HTC One M8. So it’s a real tough one to decide between that and a Nexus 6. I’m personally aiming for a Nexus 6 so I can get the latest updates straight from Google w/o having to deal with the manufacturer or the wireless provider (Verizon for me). The N6 is massive in the hand whereas the M8 should feel more comfy in hand. But since I do not know the size of one’s hand, I suggest holding a M8 or walk into a wireless store and hold a iPhone 6 Plus. The iPhone 6 Plus and the N6 have very similar size dimension so it should give you a rough idea on how big the N6 is.

Have fun on deciding on your next phone!

I tried the One M8 and the new iPhones in the store. The M8 was kinda running (too) hot. Does it always heat up like that?

I don’t mind the size, iPhone 6+ size was okay, Nexus 6 should be as well.

I have one, never runs hot for me. And the battery life is pretty good.

If you get it, get the Dot case. I got it for free and initially dissed it as a novelty, but it’s surprisingly useful.

I’m 99% sure I’m going to get a Nexus 6. I’m still rocking a Galaxy S3 so I’m due for an upgrade. I love having stock Android on my Nexus 7 (2013) tablet, so I want to go with that for my next phone. Pocketability is my only concern, so I was planning on going to one of the local phone stores this weekend to check out some similar sized phones just to make sure I can live with it. If for some reason I don’t get a Nexus 6, my next choice would either be a Moto X (2014) Pure Edition, if they get the LTE bands on that model straightened out, or a Sony Xperia Z3. But I’m hopeful I can live with the Nexus.

On another note, I’m kinda with Jay-Kun in wondering what the status is on some of your shows. Not only is Amagi Brilliant Park well behind, but so is Sailor Moon Crystal. If there’s issues getting them released, it would be helpful if you could update your status link on the right hand side of the page; all but one show says that they are “on schedule”.

I’m on the Akame team, so I don’t know about the other shows. Once the BDMVs show up I’ll stop waiting for the TL and just edit HS for BDs (I’m only in charge of Akame BDs, not TV version).

My buddy loves his HTC One M8, but the gimmicky case they designed for it he already stopped using. He found constantly flipping over the screen protector to be too much of a hassle.

    Still waiting for Ranma …

Thanks for this anonymlol. Do you got any plans on Nyaruko-san S2 like you did with S1 under TenB or Doki?

  • Bueno Excellente

I’m running an LG G3. Great phone, particularly if you like being able to expand memory and swap batteries if you want or need to.

  • Rawr

I personally have a Galaxy S5 mini with O2. I think its a good reliable phone. I don’t know enough about phones to recommend it over something else but its good none the less.

    Smartphones are unnnecessary. I’m gonna keep enjoying being a dinosaur/fossil, with my Nokia 6230. ( ̄ー ̄)

The Droid Turbo is coming out soon. Check it out too.

  • Joe88

Spec wise the note 4 and nexus 6 are the same, they are very close in price as well, but the note 4 has a bunch of extras including the very desirable microsd slot, removable battery, waccom digitizer with spen, ir blaster, and a few other things.

  • Gryph

I can’t really speak to the Nexus, but I’ve got an M8. Upgraded from an Inspire a good five months back.

It’s a nice phone, zero problems so far. Only thing I’d like is louder speakers. Just a nitpick.

Screen’s about the size of the Vita, videos are clear and crisp, games play with zero lag/stutter, and the aluminum body feels quite sturdy.

The OnePlus One is a really nice high-end phone for a good price: http://oneplus.net

  • Ryner

I’m currently using the note 3 and I haven’t had any problems with the phone, but if I had money to burn I would upgrade to the note 4. I also heard that the iPhone 6 plus bends easily…

    • Rawr

The bendy Iphone 6 news was all over newspapers here in the UK at the time too. Sounded really bad. Especially when you consider how much they cost lol

  • kenpachi_91

I mean it depends. The note 4 is definitely going to go a long way with the 32GB of internal memory and can take a memory card up to 128GB (great for anime storage on the go). The nexus 6 will be running pure google so updates will always be quick and no bloatware from the carriers as well. The HTC M8 is an ok phone in my opinion. The camera can leave something to be desired at times and it’s quite big for a 5″ phone. As for OEM skins such as HTC Sense, Samsung’s Touchwiz, LG Home (or w/e they call it now); HTC is definitely the snappiest.

  • Shige Kun

    Awesomeness. Many thanks indeed.

As for phones, I use one of these http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n_gage-390.php

Gets a good signal, sends texts and receives calls. All the rest is superfluous.

  • Kucing

    In total, how many BDs?

  • anon

Is this a complete retranslation or just honorifics added where needed?

    • anonymlol

It hasn’t been translated from scratch, but the translation has been checked and edits have been made where necessary. For example, in ep 10, which dialogue do you prefer? https://www.diffchecker.com/0k5p15on

      • anon

Also includes retranslations to really bad lines like the infamous “tenchi can’t be copied”, correct? Guess I’ll have to check it out once all 13.5 episodes are done. Mihoshi Special going to be taken care of too, since it’s on the japanese bluray?

  • deanzel

Any ETA on the last volume? A slightly belated Doki-mas surprise?
