Yes, Hi10P stuff gives Western Digital Media Players some trouble. The good news is that they update these players relatively frequently, so an update may be around the corner. Who knows!
I do anticipate actual 10-bit decoding to at least show up in some off-brand tablets, possibly also as an advertised feature in some newer Radeon cards.
Remember when laptops needed an MPEG-2 hardware decoder to smoothly play an ordinary DVD? That’s done with. In similar fashion the ranks of MPEG-4, DivX, XviD and h.264 8-bit Base/High have all been added to hardware decoders. Think of it this way…if broadcasters could shave 20% bandwidth costs from all their animated shows, wouldn’t it be a little tempting for them too?
Some Android media players already suport 10-bit decoding, through libavcodec no less. All of these use hardware decoding at some level, allowing playback of 1080 Hi10p anime on an ASUS Transformer for instance. MX Player is currently the most functional I know of.
Couldn’t you wait a little to avoid taking over the whole first page?
Guess he intentionally did it BEFORE he couldn’t take over the whole front page! Well played, Ix, well played ( ¬‿¬)
That was one great show… All the memories Editing it! Jakeman and the Jinrui stallers FTW ( ¬‿¬)
Speaking of patches and batches, does this mean the missing line I pointed out in [BD episode 2] will have to wait until the BD batch?
Yes.
Alright, then. Just checking.
Awesome been waiting for this batch, even though nothing’s new in it… So when can we be expecting the last part of Toradora?
Aisaka Taiga took the episodes, and won’t give them back 🙁
Ah! Damn! I actually completely forgot about the fact Doki was doing those! >_< Curses, I can't believe I let myself get sweeped up in their pace!
for me, the HI10P stuff wont play via my Western Digital TV Live box off of hard drive. Other than that everything Doki does is awesome. /:^)
Yeah, sureeeeeee…..

But I heard, we might never see any hardware player that can play 10bit file… :v
never say never, Index. It sets a bad precedent!
