I subbed this one for my parents half a year ago.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……..Being a guy…I’ve never actually watched a josei show before…Should I make this the first? Is it worth it? I’m intrigued about this one, reading about it on AniDB, but I’m a little scared of the josei genre. I’ve watched some 3-4 shoujo shows in my time, which isn’t much. I mostly watch seinen and shounen. What do you guys think?
Oh and btw, I just gotta say it: That is one looooong title for an anime…
I hadn’t watched any josei show before either. I can’t say that I especially liked Kawamo o Suberu Kaze, but I wouldn’t call it bad even if it’s not my cup of tea. I recommend watching it, if only to see what this genre is like. After all, it’s only one episode long.

You do realize that all those lolicious and fanservice filled shows you watch and like so much, such as Strike Witches, are all shounen, right? ; )
Ah, wait, SW is seinen…well, anyway, my point is that the majority of Type-B otaku shows, that are filled with cute girls and fanservice, are shounen shows. Just as many if not more of those than there are of testosterone-filled action shounen shows.

I know that, but it still shouldn’t take 5 days. TLCing and editing should take as long as it takes to watch the episode +10 mins max of script editing, and muxing takes less than 5 mins. Why are you guys so slow?

Well you learn something new every day. I didn’t even know there was an anime style aimed at the older woman market. I’ve seen Honey and Clover and Nodame and didn’t know they were considered josei. I’ll get this one just to see if it is anywhere near as good as those.

Well I’m glad I could make you laugh. But seriously, any native English speaker should be able to do it that fast. Maybe you Brits just aren’t very smart? (I’m American by the way)
Editing speed highly depends on the translator’s knowledge of English. Some translators churn out scripts that are complete gibberish and require hours of editing, while some only need a couple of lines reworded.
I’d like to see you try to edit one of arashi0’s scripts in 10 minutes.

Assuming you’re not just a troll, I’ll inform you that I, too, am American, and I’ve been speaking English—and speaking it well—probably twice as long as you have (no, literally). Unless the TL is also a native speaker and good with the written word, you simply will not be editing a script (well) in 34 minutes. (Yes, I also understood that you were not saying 10 minutes, but ep. time + 10 minutes.)
The part mocking British people was just to make people angry, but it seems like most people here can’t even read well (you were the only one that realized I said ‘ep. time + 10 minutes’). I call people stupid then they prove they are.

Even so, 34 minutes would only be possible if the translator knows English really well. Plus, most translators tend to be in a “different state of mind” when they’re translating (English and Japanese are very different structurally, so there are bound to be mistakes when converting from one language to another), which is why all translators need someone to make a pass through their scripts to correct any spelling/grammar/wording mistakes.

This is a nice release, rare times do I encounter this sort of show that targets primarily more maturer audience, thanks for subbing the show.
If you come across them rarely, then I think it’s probably just because you don’t know where to look. : ) What shows for mature audiences are you refering to here? Josei or seinen? I could give you suggestions for shows to check out depending on your answer. : )
Actually I already check on Mal and see there listing of what shows are similar to this, but it’s definitely not Chihayafuru, Nodame, nor Honey and Clover. Probably the closest show that I ever watch similar to this is the movie “Only Yesterday.”
Aaaah, ok, I thought you were refering to shows for mature audiences in general, but what you mean are shows for mature audiences that are similar to this show. Sorry, I misunderstood you. ; ) And you’re right, Only Yesterday is pretty similar, I watched that one a long time ago. I wasn’t aware it was josei until just now lol! ^^ Guess I HAVE watched josei before after all. I collect in Ghibli movies, so I’ve watched every single one of them. ; )
Thanks for this. I really enjoyed it and it’s not often I’m exposed to something meant for an older audience. I wished it was a little longer but you get just enough information that the characters have depth. Looking forward to the next project. ;D
