Not always. Shiki had 22 episodes, Nodame 23 and Honey and Clover 24.
Shiki also has the two extra episodes 20.5 and 21.5 though, so in a way it’s 24 episodes.

Surprised they ended in 11 episodes, 11 episodes is a lame number, you don’t get many good shows that end in 11 episodes, but I guess on a plus point there’s less filler/randomness and more serious stories.
By the way, those poor people in the mine in Swansea died, they just said a few hours back on the UK news, so sad. R.I.P, dunno if anyone else in the UK saw that stuff 😛
