Denpa teki na Kanojo (DVD)

Denpa teki na Kanojo

So, random release here. This one belonged to another group that various members of Doki were part of. That group is dead now, so we’ve updated the script, cleaned out the crap and brought everything up to Doki grade. We even did some re-encoding. Now it’s fit for release.

For those of you who don’t know what Denpa teki no Kanojo is, check out this page. A very short lived OVA, but one of the best I’ve seen. Pity it ended so abruptly.

Original subs by Eien no Anime.

    Thanks for the release!

This is great stuff! I have watched this anime years ago, you would be amazed by this anime from the beginning ’till the end by the awesome plot, with the many surprises that are built-in into the story in such an ingenious way. If I remember it correctly this anime is based on a light novel series with 3 volumes which are written by Kentarō Katayama (Kure-nai’s author); the first and third volumes were adapted into these two OVAs. Perhaps there’s a small chance that the second volume of the light novel would be adapted into another OVA, although after all these years there are no sign that another OVA will come.

    • Akashic

The third OVA was originally slated for mid 2010, it’s now mid 2011. Apparently the OVA series was cancelled early when the original author dropped the light novel series.

      An absolute pity.

Seems a good anime from the comments above. So I will try it too.
    Thanks!

  • whitestar

  • loomy

  • Nisen

Whoa I watched these some months ago!

  • crazyanimegyrl

I have to agree… this OVA series was really good and I was on the 🙁 as well when I learned there wasn’t no more after watching OVA 2, the “Happiness Game.”

Thanks for releasing a better quality! 🙂

  • Gar

Thanks so much. This was an amazing OVA and it is nice to have a great version to archive.

  • Boku no Schooldays na Kanojo

Loved this OVA and still remains my favorite one after having watched it a few years back, and havent watched it for a few months since we capped a thread on /a/ about it and got like 40 people to download it. If you enjoy seinen or mature, original anime overall this OVA is a fucking must to see, so get downloading.

Oh, and check out the light novels as well, if you’re into that kind of media.

  • Hariwald

I loved (still love) this OVAs. I was really shocked they didn’t go on with the third one. I just hope they reconsider this, and if it ever comes to the U.S.A (one can dream, right?) I’ll certainly buy it.

  • asd

This is really good i thought the first episode was better then the second though

  • Watched it for the first time just now.
    Wow.
    Seriously…
    Wow.
Not really my type of anime, and yet I got sucked really bad. Of all OVAs I’ve ever watched, these two are the best.
    Thanks, Doki!

  • Rokudaime

Thanks for this. Time to switch out my Ayako release. ; )

  • innerchihiro

Well this is a nice surprise! I first watched Denpa Teki na Kanojo as a recommendation on MAL. I was looking for more series like Kara no Kyoukai, (if you liked this and you haven’t seen that, go watch it right now!!) It seriously depresses me that it was discontinued… AMEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Oh well…

  • FLNC"

thanks Doki-BTN for the great release
after watched ep.1 i really love this ova 🙂

  • I don’t know how “original” I can call it, since it does have the typical “Sudden Girlfriend Appearance dragging normal guy into unusual adventures” setup, but it was very well-done with gorgeous animation. Only complaint I had was that the characters sometimes suffered from genre blindness and “way to just stand there” syndrome. As in, “some girl is cowering in the corner getting threatened and verbally abused by a crazy psycho chick, but let’s just sit at the table and watch, twiddling our thumbs and our weapons.”

  • Shiro

This is one of my top favorite series!! Right along with [Le Portrait De Petite Cossette]

Are you going to sub the last episode? (OVA #3)

Oh, Please oh please, I will worship you guys forever if you can put out a Blu-ray release of this series!!

    Thanks for the hard work!

    • Dys

Well, first off, there is no episode 3. The series has been dropped by the author and thus the anime company seem to have dropped it before completing what they had.

Also, there is no Blu-Ray release. However, if there ever is a Blu-Ray release, we will most likely update our archives.

  • So glad I watched this. It blew my mind.

I wish the producers had released the background music in some form. It’s absolutely incredible to listen to late at night.

  • Tsugumi

While I’m all happy about the Blu-Ray (promised on January 12th), I’m having mixed feelings about this – can someone explain, why would they 1) release a DVD and 2) a Blu-Ray of a series not only discontinued, but the series’ original source ITSELF sharing same fate? If the LN was finished, I’d go all “hoping & praying” mode for remaking the series anew from scratch, but with DntK in this state, I’m getting more and more confused

  • Dami

BDMV is already up on share =D
