And so AnoHana comes to a close, enjoy. Also Mimi is awesome.
Critical errors will be fixed in batch, and everything else in the Blu-rays. This was my first project, and I want to thank everyone who worked on it, as well as thanking Holo for releasing when I couldn’t make it 😀
Mimi will be translating Usagi Drop, which is the new noitaminA show airing in C’s slot (which aired right before AnoHana). See you then! – Holo

Mimi, your work was great, thank you. Looking forward to Usagi drop.
Thanks a lot for fansubbing this anime Doki!
Your sister’s singing is fantastic, though the British accent is rather heavy on some lines.
Thank you so much for doing such an amazing job on this incredibly amazing show!
Nice job. I especially like your translation when Poppo makes his confession. Very powerful.
Thanks for subbing this one, waiting for the batch.
I hope there will be a 2nd season email me back to tell me if there is plz i hope so 🙂 email at Aron.pruett@gmail.com

Thanks for doing a great job translating and subbing Ano Hana! It’s been an amazing ride.
I’m posting because I had a couple comments about the subs for this last episode.
It seems like there was a bit of an error at 6:03. The line goes “It was completely hopeless…” but the following line goes “…to trying to help Menma pass on with these kinds of feelings.” The “to” at the beginning of the second line seems like it shouldn’t be there.
The series of lines starting at 9:04 I feel like could have been worded slightly differently.
Tsuruko: I thought something looked a bit strange about your eyes.
Anaru: Tsuruko! You…
Poppo: You don’t really need any more eyelashes than you already have.
Yukiatsu: Just leave them as is.
Anaru: Geez! Thanks, but quit calling me Anaru already!
In each of Tsuruko’s, Poppo’s, and Yukiatsu’s lines, they say Anaru, but in the translation her name isn’t mentioned, so Anaru’s line about not wanting to be called such doesn’t make much sense. I guess one can just hear Anaru being said, but I think it’s important that the subtitles make sense just by reading alone. Something like
Tsuruko: I thought something looked a bit strange about your eyes, Anaru.
Anaru: Tsuruko! You…
Poppo: You don’t really need any more eyelashes than you already have, Anaru.
Yukiatsu: Anaru, just leave them as is.
Anaru: Geez! Thanks, but quit calling me Anaru already!
It may seem a bit excessive, but in this particular case I think it would work better this way.
At 9:47 the line goes “To be honest, I didn’t really mind if she went to Heaven.” This doesn’t seem to fit with Jinta’s mentality at the time. The way it’s worded, it sounds like Jinta is saying he doesn’t care one way or another, but would not be upset if she went to Heaven. My Japanese isn’t great, but the line “Honto ha sa, joubutsu nante shinakere ii tte omotteta.” I think translates to something like “Really, I thought it’d be fine if she didn’t go to heaven.” which is more in agreement with Jinta’s confession of feeling selfish over fulfilling Menma’s wish.
This is just a small thing, but at 4:31 Tsuruko’s lines go “That even if Menma went to Heaven, instead I’d just…” “…find myself losing out to you!”. But it seems to me that from the Japanese “Menma ga joubutsu shitemo, sono kawari ha anata da tte. Watashi ha kawari de kamawanakatta.” the translation is more like “Even if Menma goes to Heaven, you’d be the replacement. I didn’t mind being a replacement.” There doesn’t appear to be any mention of losing to Anaru. Though the meaning isn’t too different, Tsuruko’s second sentence seems to be skipped over, so I was curious about it.
This last thing is especially minor. At 22:04 the line goes “I wonder… What were the names of the flowers that bloomed during that season?” It seems weird to pluralize name since there’s only one type of flower in question. And, after all, the title of the series is “We still don’t know the name of the flower we saw that day”.
These are all just suggestions from a guy with too much time on his hands. Hopefully this might help out a bit. Your translation work really is great and I appreciate you guys subbing this show so much. So once again, thanks for your hard work!
This series looks like it might be relevant to my interests. Will there be a batch of this produced?
When will the batch be released?
I second this request. I was downloading by episode when you were nearly done releasing, though I decided to wait at episode 3 for the full batch, so I could have something more complete and clean to seed and keep.
Is it going to require a BD release to fix issues? Should I just download and forget? This is one show I’d like to finish, thank you for your hard work in releasing it so far. 😀
Raise your hand if you shed a few tears at the end *raises hand*
