Awesome – incredibly glad you’re subbing this. It’s always nice when one of the subbers who knows what they’re doing ends up subbing my most anticipated show.
Maybe it’s just me, but do you guys really need to do a show another reputable subgroup has already said they’re doing? With all the shows coming out next season it seems kinda dumb for everyone to be subbing the same shows. :/

Oversubbing is sometimes unavoidable, after all, we work in the shows we want and not based on the decisions of others.
Please don’t turn this into a UTW vs Doki debate. We’re doing this show because we like it and enjoy working on it. I personally find this show very funny, and I hope the TV Series actually starts from the beginning of the manga (there are many hilarious scenes in the first volume).
who cares if both Doki and UTW are doing it? get it from who you want to get it from and shut up. also, Doki will sub what they want to, or else they probably wouldn’t sub at all.
And besides, the idea that shows “belong to” groups who announce subbing them first is preposterous. If idiots like gg or nutbladder were the only groups subbing Madoka, it would be a horrible situation, so thank god for yesy. The more groups subbing a show the better, because the more chance there is that a decent group will be available.

The real complaint here is possibilities of OVERSUBBING, seeing 1-4~ shows get 5+ groups subbing them while certain other shows might get NO GROUPS doing them.

Of course, we expect you to do this in a civilised manner, as our only way of asserting your intelligence and thereby value of your opinion is your use of language (indicating that you’re foreign is considered polite). Discussing our releases in function of others (aka “comparing”) can be done on the many anime-related fora the Internet hosts.
My personal opinion:
I don’t care about credit. I don’t care who and how many people watch releases I’ve worked on. I only do this for myself, for the shows I care about (of which I think they deserve decent subs), out of plain boredom and in the very last place, you — the people who’re supposed to watch this. As far as I care about that, we’re just here to provide you subs of which we think possess the highest quality. And if your definition of quality differs from ours (e.g.: British vs. American English; localised vs. weeaboo; fansub humour vs. faithful; etc.) , I actually suggest you watch another release that fits you better so that you may enjoy it and not whine about our style on our website/IRC channel.

Oversubbing sucks, but there are too many groups out there, so it can’t be helped. Sometimes doing leftovers make it seem like we are some beggars. We have pride too.
I always get this general impression from the comments that UTW seems to be more superior than Doki. I really wonder how such impressions are made.
In any case you leechers just be happy there are groups subbing them.
It’s not that UTW are superior. However, when you maintain 24-hour-or-less-after-airing releases, you get 20,000 downloads. Therefore, your fanbase increases exponentially. The said fanbase gets very “possessive” of the shows that their group does, and doesn’t like to see another group do it, especially when they know (though they won’t admit it) that the competing group does it just as well as their group does.
Same can be said of Mazui. Lots of Mazui fanboys trolling our Ore no Imouto – 01 post too.
Doki has not been able to match speeds of groups like Mazui and UTW in the past, but this spring, we will.

What is the point of adding 2 commentary tracks if they arn’t subbed? Not trying to be rude, just asking.
Because of completionism. There are people out there that value the tracks because
1. they understand Japanese well enough to make out some things from it, even though they’re not fluent enough to watch without subs, or
2. use them as Japanese learning tools, or
3. they don’t want to replace their entire collection of anime as soon as they understand Japanese
