All it really needs is a different font and colours, which doesn’t take that much effort, so obviously the person likes to keep it simple (Isuca had the same karaoke).
KFX is useless anyway.

ALOT of Doki releases contains that same font/effect. It’s gotten to the point for me I’m more surprised when a show has styling like that nice show Joukamachi. It doesn’t need fancy kfx at all as that show had, static would be fine and as you wrote different font/colors to match or fits the setting of the OP/ED. I offered to share the font/style to help early on in TLRD airing but my comment and link to it wasn’t considered and got deleted here.

Do you by chance know where I can get the “Arial Rounded MT Regular (NOT Bold)” Font? Most pages had to delete it because of copyright.
Can probably extract it from one of our releases that used it, as for which used it though… I dunno!

By the way, I have some subbed anime in 480p (4:3 with borders), and I want to watch them in full screen on my TV. What would be a proper font size for that?
Have you tried watching it as is? Because whether the file is hard or soft-subbed, the subtitles should scale up with the video and be legible.
That’s why I changed the script’s resolution to 720p. I’m just not sure about the font’s size.
