  • Rokudaime

6 volumes is only halfway!? Jesus, those poor Japanese otaku wallets lol…It’s honestly beyond me how people can afford to buy anime at all. 😛

    • Rawr

Lol believe it or not you see people complaining that 35-40 dollars is too expensive for 12-13 episode boxsets. Makes me think, well what about those poor Japanese anime fans spending 70-80 dollars on 1 Blu Ray with 2 episodes lol

Anyway pity this series was never released on DVD in US/Europe, the license was cancelled when Bandai Entertainment went out of business. I would of bought this sub only too 😛

So that’s what happened? Crap on the shelves has been getting so bad I didn’t even notice their passage.

        • Rawr

Basically they didn’t adapt to the changes in the industry(Shift towards boxsets) and died out pretty much. People saw it coming when they packaged Hayate the Combat Butler in 8+ sets of 6-7 episodes, sub only for 40 dollars each. People ignored it lol

Just sucks that they died before releasing Nichijou, no one else seems to want to pick it up.

Bandai Namco (games) and BanPresto (figures) are still going strong though, so I guess it must have been just the anime division that died? Or are they seperate companies? Sorry if I’m being an idiot and asking dumb questions…

          • Rawr

Lol, that wasn’t a dumb question. And you’re right anyway, they were just a division of their parent company or something I think.

Ideally what we need is more Japanese companies taking a chance with anime licensing, like Aniplex have done. If only to reduce Funimations market share(As they’re an annoyance to fansub groups lol).

          • Rokudaime

            I see.

  • Rawr

    Anyway thankyou for this 🙂

Thank you for continuing this, Doki!

I hope you stick with it since no other sub groups want to do it ( Or atleast, no other group wants to finish it and/or just stopped mid-way )

  • Kuru

    Thanks for the release!
Btw, how’s work on To Love Ru: Darkness coming along?

It’s true that Nichijou never saw a US/EU relsease… It HAS however been released by our good friends at MADMAN from ‘down under’ on DVD for a mere 60 bucks (26 eps split into two box-sets). Somehow this news seems to have gone many by unnoticed (released already in April!), which is a real shame… let’s remedy this.
