I can accept that he disagree’s with everyone, that’s fine, and I can even accept that he wishes to believe in a different definition than the rest of us (his vs OED’s). Anyway, assuming your claim about there being lots of dictionaries using the definition you’re adhering to being true, that means there are 2 different conflicting professional defintions out there, and so neither of us can defenitely prove that one or the other is right or wrong. In light of those 3 facts, isn’t it clear that there is no point in continuing this discussion? You can’t force your oppinion on us, and you can’t prove you’re right. And neither can we.
