honestly, its pointless to do 720p 8bit encodes, 8-bit 1080p stuff is what matters tbh, as a lot of people relay of hw decoding of such content and 720p of any kind can be played by anything these days, i bet my toaster could do that.
Honestly, it’s pointless to whine about shit you have no control over.
This made me happy.
720p in 8-bit is where it’s at. I can see 1080p Hi10P for those who really think it makes a difference, but some of us just want HD without huge file sizes or software decoding.
It’s too bad Chihiro went the way they did, but at least theres an SD release for those who need it.

Is there a (good) reason why there isn’t 1080p?
While I do not have the specific details concerning this show, the usual reason for the omission of 1080p is that it looks too crappy to be bothered with.

I just watched both versions in just their OP form and noticed nothing wrong. Could you tell me what version + episode you are seeing this in? Otherwise it might just be on your end
I was doing some subtitle comparison of this with CG release and found couple of things amiss. Like for example in episode 3 around 12:17 the insulting messages Yuto receives in his locker are left untranslated or like minor mistakes such as in episode 2 at around 02:38 the line “Do you mean like ad-date?” where a space bar is missing.
I mean not to be a jerk so don’t take it that way if you can. I just thought that you might not mind a little audience input if guys are gonna do final touch-ups in the batch release or something.

That only you connect PC to it. what about other media box, there noway can play.
I once though HTPC can play hi10p, but once I bought , I find it can only play 720p Hi10p not 1080p Hi10p. I just cant put my HTPC on the shelf after bought. So I need method to extend it life for a year. Maybe next year I will buy real PC for play anime on HDTV
