Re-releasing in Hi10P. Compared to the old version, this version has higher quality, and a massive reduction in filesize.

Yup, here it begins the Hi10P versions of Key releases. Now only waiting for batches and then downloading.
Thanks for the work!
YAY, now I’ glad I didn’t put the 8-bit at the top of my download que and waste bandwidth.
Gonna go for this one when the batch comes out.
One more thing: Will there be a dual audio patch?
(my old DVD-rip has dual audio and the english is actually quite good.)
You can demux the audio and remux it with the new file?! 😛
no english audio on the blurays
THX Doki, I’m totally loving this (and downloading it when I’ll be in my networks classes at school) 🙂
When is Blood C coming out whats the estimate time
I wonder if anyone can post a screenshot comparison of the 8-bit 1080p against the new Hi10P 1080p release? I’d be curious to see if there was any banding present in the old version that is no longer there in the new.
I doubt you can see much difference. Back when I encoded in 8-bit, I already ensured it was to the highest quality possible. The naked eye probably cannot tell the difference, but the 10-bit is of a higher quality. Plus the filesize reduction.
I recall some banding in your Clanned encode, particularly episode 1 at the end when Nagisa is standing alone in the streetlight. It was minor but noticeable. I’ll see if I can post a screenshot. But I agree, overall your 8-bit encodes are the best quality.
See here for what I meant about banding in Clannad:

I think Holo is talking about the encoding he did for Kanon, while you seem to be talking about Clannad.
You fail at conversation, Kenji. Holo said that when he encoded in 8-bit (ie: both for Kanon and Clannad), he used the highest quality possible. I then said that even with his high quality 8-bit encodes, there was banding present, specifically in Clannad. I don’t easily recall an instance of banding in Kanon, but they likely won’t exist anymore. So this version should be superior.
lol, Sorry, but since:
1.This post is about Kanon.
2.Your comment wasn’t a reply to anything, which means you are commenting about the post (still Kanon right?). In it you ask for a comparison.
3. Holo answers: “Back when I encoded in 8-bit, I already ensured it was to the highest quality possible”. (We’re still in Kanon right?)
4. Now you bring Clannad for the first time in the conversation. and post again adding an example of Clannad.
Now, after all this, I just politely say “I think Holo is talking about the encoding he did for Kanon, while you seem to be talking about Clannad.”
I’m sorry if after all this I didn’t understand the fact that from #2 you were talking about both Clannad and Kanon. AND that Holo, in his reply also implied the encoding of both series.
Can you tell me if only the Key series be rereleased,
I personally believe that some of the movies you’ve released over time (some > 10GB)can use a Hi10P rerelease aswell.
>some of the movies
Clannad movie 😛
And Dissapearance…
…can die in a fire
Agreed about the Clannad Movie, since it’s no good anyway (just watch the epic series instead people), but re-releasing Dissapearance is not a bad idea, considering how insanely good the movie was…
Oh, and this is awesome btw. Thanks Holo! ^^

I’m not willing to kill the thing (it would be like killing a bit of me, even if it is a very, VERY small part), but I have no problem casting it aside like the second game of an awesome trilogy+… meant to be seen once in a blue moon, briefly remembered (but never re-played!), and thrown back in a drawer for another few years.
Sweet thanks Doki!
I took the liberty in uploading some extras (BD Menu 8bit, Gallery, Scans) for anybody interested if Doki permits.

Is there an option to disable the translation notes? In episode 1 I find it a little distracting and I don’t really like it (yes, I know I’m bothering for a little thing but maybe I’m to perfectionist).
Leaving that aside, this is a really nice release and the version that will be archived. Thank you for your great work 🙂
You can always demux the .ass, edit it and remove the TL NOTE with aegisub and remux the edited .ass back in the .mkv ^^
nah.. im happy with my custom region A dual dub/sub blu-rays
And the award for most pointless comment goes to…
So, re-release for Kanon, Air, Clannad S1 & S2.
Me only completed Clannad S1, ‘n for the rest, waiting re-release.
And why Onii-chan no Koto last volume so long to release? Also Asobi OVA ???
Oh my, Hi10p also for Haruhi too or not?
Me not yet take that show.
What’s the best player I can use for this version. I’m using media player classic and the 720P version but the video quality is s— (on my computer anyway, I don’t know for the other) it’s like i was watching a downloaded video on youtube at 240p on a 1980×1080 screen resolution.
Do you have the latest CCCP? I’m running these vids with MPC-HC (or whatever it’s called I can’t remember right now) just fine…
OK I’ve managed to correct to video problem with an update of CCCP (I should have done this from the beginning thx for pointing it), but now the video go faster than the sound at 25 second like i was pressing FastFoward while the sound stay where it is. Any idea what is going on? I’ve looked but I can’t find anything.
And it’s not just this video its all the video I play (I use MPC-HC)
OK I got it, Looks like I was to stupid to think about reinstalling it
it’s ur video player that can’t play 10-bit video
Will you re-encored AIR and CLANNAD?
Read the main page.
Is it just me or is the audio lower than the 8-bit…
Almost cannot hear without plugin my heaphones(which I hate)…
Can someone teach me to increse the volume… Pleaseeee….
go to MPC View -> Option -> Internal Filter -> Audio Switcher.
give check on :
1. Enable built-in …..
2. Normalize
3. Regain Volume
after that u can adjust its volume in Boost
Thanks a lot….
Is it Japanese 5.1 audio?
Would be nice if yo could add some specs to the releases.
the only thing that makes a difference is the way how they encode the video -> 10-bit
so yes. it will be 5.1 audio as well 😉
question….
i have all of your key releases and always use Clannad NCED 1080p to test. if i use DXVA hardware acceleration(ATI HD5870) i can play the ending just fine…perfect in fact. but if i try to use my processor (Phenom 9950) it sucks. on the other hand, if i use my processor and run this Hi10p of kanon the picture is perfect and if i use hardware decoding its all blocky and distorted(i know this is because no hardware supports Hi10p.
so my question….how can i play clannad NCED and kanon hi10p without having to change settings each time?
i use cccp latest version (7-30-2011) and mpc-hc
o.O thanks in advance!
Will there be a new NCOP&ED with this release or are we to use the previous ones? Or will there be no need for them at all? 0_o
