This is the secret project that we have been working for a little while. I’ve actually started this project back when it was aired in 2008 at Cherry-NiceBoat, and it has since been transferred to Sekai-NiceBoat, Chihiro, and now Doki-Chihiro. This marks a very happy day for me and Blazewardog. For me, it is because the scripts that I have prepared for three years are now finally used. For Blaze, it is because he finally has a chance to reunite with his waifu, and able to grace her with 10-bit video, as a test run for both groups.
I would like to point out that we currently only have the first Blu-Ray disc of this series. Blaze and I will be selling “chocolates” later in order to fund money for both the second disc and T.P. Sakura volume 2.
Since this is the first 10-bit video we are releasing (and the first ordered chapter release for Doki), here is a list of software that can play it in order of usefulness:
- mplayer2 : Windows builds can be found here , A git repo for building it on linux is located here
- CCCP: Grab the most recent version on this page. Any version later than 2011-07-30 supports 10-bit.
- MplayerX: I hear this has it for Mac users but i have no idea where, maybe your app store for your “desktop” has it
- VLC : No one should want to use this but a build that should support it is located here
Edit: A v2 to fix the problem with the ED has been released. It is currently located in the fileserve folders linked below.

here’s the better h264 10bit guide: http://coalgirls.wakku.to/?page_id=4635
SMplayer using Mplayer2 also works great playing 10-bit (for those that want a GUI)
Love Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu! Been hoping you guys were going to do the first season so I could replace CG’s version. Disappointed though that it was done with ordered chapters though…Like most people I could care less if it saves a few MBs for a series, but it’s about having the entire episode in a single file (especially if I need to reencode like for my cell phone or burn). Seriously hope Doki doesn’t make a habit of doing ordered chapters.
Hopefully the subs are better than your Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu – Purezza release. The translation errors there where really horrible.
Blame CR for the translation errors. Purezza was Doki’s first show (back when Doki consisted of just Holo), which was just an edited CR script on TV raws.
Well, if this serves as a test of things to come then I have to admit I won’t have any problems with it. I’m too lazy to actually go and test both 720p versions to check the differences though so I’ll just have to trust that there indeed was some difference in quality (it’s been ages since I saw Himitsu and I never bothered to download the BD’s of it). Good luck with the project.
This is awesome, but I am really dissapointed that you decided to adapt Chihiro’s retarded love for ordered chapters….That said, I’m all for 10-bit becoming mainstream, so I might replace my CG’s version with this one, but for me it will really all depend on who has the best translation.
Haruka is Blaze’s waifu, therefore I let him have complete say over how the show was released. We have no plans to adopt ordered chapters for any more releases in the future.
I’ll pass on this. I don’t like ordered chapters. ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌
Good to know that ordered chapters won’t be Doki’s standard.
this is what i like 😉
Really happy to hear you aren’t going to adopt ordered chapters for other shows. ; )
Thank you!!!!
I was hoping you would do the first season of Nogizaka ^_^
Hope to see the other releases for it soon! ^_^
Thanks again!
Heh, took you guys a while to do this. Anyway, thanks to put me into the “attempts”. Though it’s a bit sad that my work was all for nothing. :/
Your old timed scripts are still used in this project. 🙂 There may be some adjustments here and there, though.
Don’t worry, I was kind to Fu-chan’s_super_timing!xD (;
Well, those were timed to the DVDrips, you gave me, so go figure. 😛 Anyway, thanks then. So, guess I’ll be put in the credits one you release those eps? 🙂
this release would be the best archive if it had secondary subtitle track of either m.3.3.w or AQS-Anime. makes every happy.
Don’t care about this. Just sell me some chocolate? :d
The last time I check MPlayerX did not support ordered chapters. Also the SSA subs didn’t use the embedded fonts.
There is a similar project (not available in the Mac App Store though): MPlayer OSX Extended. Grab it here:
And then get an mplayer2 build for it here:
Ordered chapters and subtitles work just fine!
I recommend this for all Mac users.
Thanks for releasing this great series, I hope you do season 3 when Its starts. Also could someone please show me a way to edit the OP and ED back it to the main episode files? I wish to be able to encode the episodes to play on my Blu-Ray player but all I’m left with is just the main episode after I try.

they have a nice guide how to play 10-bit video using madvr
Cccp will dither everything to 8-bit before rendering
Finally, something to test 10bit on…..kinda works with XBMC but there’s a shit ton of artifacts. Probs gonna be fixed in the next build though.
If this are ordered chapters i don’t need it but can you please share us your script’s so i can mux it in a raw i own?
Is it me or is the file isn’t working?
[Doki-Chihiro] Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu – ED (1280×720 Hi10P BD FLAC) [1F46F702].mkv
When i play and reach to 01:12, the video stop and no audio but the sub still going.
When I play this video([Doki-Chihiro] Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu – OP (1280×720 Hi10P BD FLAC) [94277CA7].mkv), no problem. What is the problem then? Thanks.
Issue was noted and looked into already. It’s on the first page of comments near the bottom. Seems to have been an AVIsynth/encoding incompatibility issue.
I also have the same problem on the 480p 8 bit and have told the chihiro fansubs, and only get a reply “That is a problem on your end, and besides the only players we support are the top 3 of the 4 listed in the post” from them.
I already tried with almost all player like K-Lite Code Pack, KMPlayer, CCCP, and VLC with the same result block glitch error.
Here is the result: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-6LNs7eBmtiw/TkyPaQ_aBDI/AAAAAAAACbA/W-oZMOI4MtY/s800/Nogizoka.png
VLC even stop when reach to 01:12 and restarted the video. The others still plays to end but moving backward will have no audio.
A v2 of the ending is coming, it was an encoding problem.
PotPlayer is good, some say there’s some glitches but I haven’t run into any of them at all.

I wonder, why VLC is so hated ? ;d
i was wondering that too. i use vlc for everything it has a good library and way to play mp3’s in background doesn’t use alot of ram and plays with great quality the menu beats other players for sure.
why is it so hated ?

Found these for the moment, though, it’s enough already
Oh no! Very minor, hardly noticeable changes! Grrr damn you, VLC!!
Those first 2 are silly things to get hung up on, but that last difference is not cool…Also, VLC just simply has issues with several releases from different fansub groups. It simply does not play all of them correctly. I have the latest version of CCCP with Media Player Classic, AS WELL as the latest version of VLC installed, and I use both, because my headset does not always give me enough volume, and so I need VLC to be able to crank it up. If it weren’t for that, I would never use it. It really does suck. There are always videos I can’t play correctly with it, but the moment I use Media Player Classic, it works just fine. -_-
VLC downscale everything….so it’s shit
strange that i don’t have that even when im watching blu-ray’s everything is perfect.
but mpc when i tried it there wereno subtitles ? suddnely no audio track ? damn you mpc…
well i’ll stick with vlc have no problems and ur qualityloss i have never experienced it 🙂
some option:
1. did u use CCCP? have u use the newest one?
or
2. did u use MPC-HC + madVR? if there was no subtitle, mostly it was ur MPC-HC issue. download the newest one. Sourceforge’s MPC-HC is outdated. download from here

10-bit video = Future
ordered chapter = Epic Fail
Why do you lose some space in 10-bit video if you are losing even more on ordered chapter bullshit?
Awesome anime, bad choices.
I completely agree with you.
Why is everyone so butthurt about ordered chapters? They save a considerable amount of space and are supported completely by basically every player except VLC, which you shouldn’t be using anyway. They can save you several gigabytes on 26 episode series.
Also, any device that has trouble with ordered chapters will also have troubles with 10bit. Stop denying what MKV is capable of.
hey, what do you know; i have problems with the 10-bit AND the ordered chapters.
how about that.
huh.
name, it has nothing to do with it not working properly, and we know saving space is a good thing. You’re missing the point entirely. The reason why ordered chapters suck is because you cut out parts of the video and put them in seperate files. It’s damn annoying to be dependant on seperate OP and ED files in order for them to play correctly in the remaining episode files. Not only is it like having a bunch of incomplete files (all of them need the 2 extra OP and ED files, so they are all incomplete on their own), but you also have the risk of an entire series that you’ve downloaded being broken, just because you happen to accidentally delete ONE of the files.
Actually, I withdraw my first statement. The playback isues are also a huge pain, and they extend beyond just VLC, believe me.
because i had a bad experience with OC. some group cut the important part of the ending….although it still had a soundtrack….
What about Purezza? will that be re-done in 10-biut to match this?
Also +1 for ordered chapters
I’m used to it 😛
10-bit I mean
darn,couldn’t edit the typo XD
Well as my copies od disks 3-6 are comming around october I wouldn’t say it is out of the question.
I don’t mind the ordered chapters at all. I can encode from them no problem, plus it saves me space. If there is an error on their end, I try to fix it myself and keep it, or wait till they fix it if I can’t.
Remember people you are getting this for FREE.
Oh, and 10-bit looks great (while saving space)! Installed latest K-Lite and runs just fine.
Hey chieftain, curious what program do you use for encoding ordered chapters? is it just inherent functionality to FFMPEG or something like that? I haven’t tried it yet because I was never sure.
i don’t really mind big files got myself 6.5 TB hdd space
First I’ve heard of this show, but DLing it.
I wanted 10-bit 480p so I can test to see if my computer’s cpu can fully handle it. Can somebody just re-encode the ED or OP to a 480p 10-bit?
So I originally downloaded 10-bit to test but neither the episode nor the OP’s or ED’s worked. I downloaded the 8-bit and managed to get the OP’s and ED’s to play. When I try to play the episode, all I get is opening status only ever seeing a black screen.
I’m using mpc-hc with K-Lite from about half a year ago. Not sure what the problem is on my end… Help would be much appreciated.
Try updating you K-lite, only the latest release is that support 10-bit..
From what you’re mentioning about when you attempted to play the 8-bit version, it sounds to me like ordered chapters aren’t working for you like they should. What a surprise. Not. Where is that guy that said something earlier about only VLC not working properly with OC’s. I want him to read this and eat those words.
VLC sucks bit time.
I can’t see anything with it without a lag.
MPC-HC is always the best option.
Um, yes, I agree, but what does that have to do with what I said? Or what Slifimis said for that matter? :-/ We already KNOW OC does not work well with VLC, and that VLC sucks. But “name” (post further up) claims that only VLC has problems with OC’s, but judging from what Slifimis says, OC’s cause problems on other players too. THAT was my point. Read posts properly before you respond man.
So how do I get mpc to play either the 8-bit or the 10-bit version? I think I do have the latest version of K-lite as I saw a 10 bit rendering as an option.
What is this ordered chapter thing? I haven’t had a problem playing any of the other anime that Doki’s subbed before… T.T
Well, there’s no surprise there, since Doki usually does not use ordered chapters. They’re doing it this time because this is Blaze’s project, and apparently he likes OC’s…for whatever reason…. -_-
Now! As for what ordered chapters ARE! In a nutshell, it means cutting out the openings and endings from the episodes, and putting them in seperate files, which all the episodes then use to play these openings and endings, rather than having them encoded into each episode file. Assuming the files work like they should, and the opening/ending is the same for each episode, then this should work without problems, but there is also the case in itself of having parts of the video cut out and put into seperate files, which I am most against, and also, unfortunately, OC’s often cause playback problems….As for what the point is in using OC’s, it’s to save harddrive space….that’s mostly it.
Is there a fix that allows me to play? There seems to be two openings and endings. Maybe I have one too many of each?
Can’t help you there, since I’m not really knowledgeble about these things. I know what OC’s are, but not much else that would be useful. Should be plenty of other people around here that can help you though. Like Blazewardog for instance. Blaze, where are you when you’re needed? -_-
If you just used CCCP (with default settings), mplayer2 or, you would have no problems. There are 2 versions of each because the second edition autoloads the non karaoked version.
