The source is pretty terrible, but after filtering, it looks acceptable for 720p now.
The amount of work going to each episode is immense, hence the slow speed. Besides each ep being 500+ lines and every ep has a unique ED.

Yes, the OVA is included in the BDs, and so are the Karting clips and many other things.

I checked the font, I doesn’t show up in word or aegisub or anywere for that matter. Installed the attached MSCORVA.ttf and looked again->No change.
Tried the same symbol using different fonts-> It shows up.
Conclusion: The attached Monotype Corsiva-font doesn’t support the character. If it does display on your end Holo, might I ask if you would be so kind to upload the font somewhere. This way it might just work.
If that doesn’t work either I would like some advice on what it could be.
I have the same MS Corsiva font, and it works for me. Anyone else experiencing this?
This is probably because the ones seeing the block do not have japanese locale, the romaji isn’t encoded with SJIS so that special line would need \fe128 to change the font encoding to SJIS for it to be watchable in non-japanese locales.
That’s not the problem because I’m running on Japanese locale right now and see the block too. Funny, I didn’t even notice it until these comments.
I think it’s something with CCCP since all the commments mention it but that’s all they have in common with my settings and OS.
I apparently do not have the font installed(checked under my control panel), but can still view the star properly.
Same here. smplayer + mplayer on linux, I don’t have the font installed on my system, and the stars are showing up fine.
The font is embedded into the .mkv file.
Looks as though I get the same as dymitr, despite also having Monotype Corsiva installed.

its your video player,MPC or WMP show up as a square, but try VLC and see for your self that it works fine~

Just updated CCCP from 2010 ver to 2011/06/26 today + CoreAVC Pro, Vista
I too am using CoreAVC pro 2.5.5 + MPC + 26-06-2011 CCCP with 32-bit Vista.
Tried to see if the problem would be solved if I switched to H264 decoding with FFDshow, however No Dice.
So does this mean the problems lies with the OS itself or with the CCCP pack?
Actually ,since Microsoft Words doesn’t use the CCCP pack the problem probably lies with the OS.

As himie mentioned above, adding {\fe} tags was needed.

You’re right Kojika,once I add the {\fe128}=tag it works fine on my end too. It’s kind of strange though since I’m using Japanase Locale… But I guess this means the problem is solved. Thanks 😀

Filesonic is pretty lame to free users, certainly no better or worse than Fileserve.
I don’t see why people complain bout fileserve, and most of which are just false complaints in lieu of their own preference:
-.MKVs off fileserve will return with broken frames -False
-fileserve has shitty servers w/ mediocre bandwidth -False
-Their speeds are slow, and the downloadeds keep timing out ~20MB -False
-Megaupload is better -False
-Filesonic is better -False
-Mediafire is better -False, and definitely so
they are all similar file-hosting services, None is better than the other unless you pay for the premium
It helps [Doki]to host these file off of Fileserve because for every download, [Doki] gets money, the investment is worth it, and Doki will probably not switch up after all this time, so stop whining, the fileserve premium is worth the investment, and if you don’t think so, you can still get all of Doki’s wonderful releases for free.
Because some people buy lifetime MU and they don’t want to let it waste now that everyone knows it sucks.
