Unrelated, but I just wanted to say that I just finished watching Colorful, and it was nice. : ) I’ve been watching alot of movies like this lately. Bungaku Shoujo and Colorful from you, and Toki Wo Kakeru Shoujo (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time) and 5 Centimeters Per Second, from others. I like nice drama anime movies like that, but I’m no good at searching them out myself. So here’s hoping you bring some more of them my way in the distant future. ^^ Anyway, thanks Doki.

There are many more out there like “The Place Promised in our Early Days” which is very similar to 5cm/s. They have that melancholic feel.
I also recommend Studio Ghibli’s films if you like heart-warming stuff.
I’m fond of Millennium Actress myself. And all of Satoshi Kon’s films, really, though Millenium Actress is probably the one I’d recommend most based on the titles you listed. 😀 Also, moving away from anime, there are lots of great live action Japanese films with a very similar bittersweet feel. Thanks guys! I will check out “The Place Promised in our Early Days” and “Millennium Actress”. I think I’l grab them from “THORA” and “niizk” respectfully (I know niizk did a fine job on several Studio Ghibli Movies). As for Studio Ghibli, thanks ZeroYuki, but I already watched every single one of them. 😀 They are actually the only anime movies (and anime in total, including series) that I actually bought legally as well, since I want to collect them. I own, and have watched, all 17 that have aired so far. I plan to watch the 2 that are currently in production once they are available. I downloaded and watched most of them from niizk first though, before I bought them. My favourites are “Princess Mononoke”, “Spirited Away”, and “Howl’s Moving Castle”. I really think everyone should watch those movies atleast once in their life. It’s really hours well spent. : )
Oh, and Boku no Schooldays na Kanojo, in response to your question, no, that’s not why, it’s alot more simple than that. I visit Doki atleast once a day, so I noticed the post about the movie, and that Doki was releasing it, and so I downloaded it, simply because Doki released it, and said it was good. Yes, I’m that simple. I’l probably watch almost anything Doki throws my way, since I really like/trust their work. : D
