Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (BD) – 03

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (BD) - 03

You’re probably wondering what’s the holdup with 1080p. Basically, the problem is the patch. Some reason, the patch to convert from SA to DA is like over 600 MB. The FLAC is only like 100 MB. So I am debating what to do.

I’ll probably release 1080p in a Volume batch.

720p (h264): [Doki] Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (2009) – 03 – The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 3 (1280×720 h264 BD AAC) [A7162B54].mkv

Batch

480p (h264): [Doki] Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (2009) – 03 – The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 3 (848×480 h264 BD AAC) [D956AA2D].mkv

It seams now that people from both ends (dub-lovers vs dub-haters) try to point their fingers at each other. However, people who claim that it’s those people’s fault, who actually suggested single audio release with separate dub and a patch, need to think a little. People who suggested SA release with separate dub/patch, suggested it as a compromise, because that would probably satisfy the dub-lovers, too. In a more radical situation, what would happen, if people wouldn’t suggest this compromise? No patches, no separate dubs. People should be more thankful.

@people who don’t care about filesizes
I personally care about filesizes. Releasing DA with a FLAC dub is bloatware. Remember Heroic Age from Coalgirls (Tenshi). An AAC or DTS would be more reasonable, MP3 or Vorbis, even more.
I won’t even download the series before it’s finished, because shit can happen: various v2’s or v3’s, and even dropping the whole project before it’s done. That’s because my internet is rather slow. And I don’t archive my anime on hard drives. But if you really don’t care about filesizes, I suggest Holo to release the 600 MB patches.

    @Holo
Did you try to include the AAC dub to the 1080p release instead of the FLAC dub, and patch it? How it behaves? Hopefully the problem will be resolved sooner or later! πŸ™‚

      I don’t drop stuff πŸ˜‰

MP3 crap? are u serious? even with old stereo headphones i can hear the difference between MP3 and Flac.

      [Sarcasm mode on]
If someone cares about filesize there is a 720p or better 480p. And, i would recommend, to never buy blu-rays because they are really oversized. xD
      [Sarcasm mode off]

      @Holo
No need for a (.exe based OS only) patch, just release the dub Audio files, MKVmerge is easy to use.

      With MKVmergeGUI it is simply:
      select “add” and choose …haruhi.x…mkv
      select “add” and choose …haruhi.x…en.flac
select the last added track and set “Language:” from “und” to “eng(English)”
      select “start muxing”
      finished
And dub-lovers can choose to set the dub as default (or not).

        [lolspeak on]
But we has a nice and big TV, so we love 1080p, but with ugly built-in speakers, so can’t really hear the difference.
BluRays oversized? Not really, the size is the same as DVD, with almost 6 times bigga storage. BluRays overpriced? Now that’s true…
        [lolspeak off]

Seriously, I wasn’t trying a flamewar between 128 kbps versus 320 kbps MP3 versus FLAC, but I was suggesting that an MP3 or Vorbis, even AAC won’t bloat the filesize that much as FLAC, so doing DA with that wouldn’t hurt that much.

Overpriced? Not here. Or depend how to calculate.

          For example: Summer Wars movie
(I don’t have the DVD so lets calculate, DVD friendly, with 8 gigabyte)
          DVD: 2.25 Euro/gigabyte
          BD: 0.67 Euro/gigabyte

can anyone put the mediafire link for this patch (720p), please?

    Thanks.

  • John Smith

Anyone who is willing to get 1080p probably won’t care about file size. You might as well include dual audio with it.

Found some minor errors here when viewing the 480p version:
    05:48, ‘It’s here!’ instead of ‘It’s come!’.
21:03, Should be eastern name order of ‘Asahina Mikuru’ and ‘Nagato Yuki’ instead of the western name order as your previous episodes’s names are done in eastern name order.

You probably already know this, but mkvmerge v4.0.0, (used in ep1) had a couple of spotty compression/decompression bugs that were fixed in v4.1.0 – v.4.4.0. Probably not the problem here, but that’s all I’ve found so far. One bug was memory related and probably more likely to show up on big files, but documentation was weak.

Maybe it was just that time of the month for Haruhi…

  • Setsunahenry

Until now, no one post the mediafire link for this patch. Anyone please don’t forget to post the mediafire link for this patch. I can’t download at Bitshare & Filserve. Thanks.

        • Setsunahenry

Nothing happened when i patched the file. Something is wrong… Can anyone help me? Thanks.

          • Narru

            1. Did you download the correct patch for the file you have? Take a look at the post and the mediafire link, you will notice there’s 2 different patch, one for 720p and one for 480p…
            2. There should a readme in the patch(I assume since I didn’t take the patches) in teaching you how to patch it.
            3. You should know by now that the patch will only work if the name of the episode is correct. Example is that the patch requires file name = [Doki] Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (2009) – 03 – The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 3 (848Γ—480 h264 BD AAC) [D956AA2D].mkv instead of [Doki]_Suzumiya_Haruhi_no_Yuuutsu_(2009)_–_03_–_The_Melancholy_of_Suzumiya_Haruhi_Part_3_(848Γ—480_h264_BD_AAC)_[D956AA2D].mkv.
Spoodfeeding done, hope this helps. Wonder am I being too observant or people too lazy…

          • someone22

I have not tried the Patches because i am waiting for 1080.
But i’ll take a look when i am back at home.

          • Setsunahenry

            @someone22

I got it. The file is okay now. So thanks anyway. I’ve finally patch it. Thank you so much.
