I watched kanon in 720p and 1080p, i didn’t see the difference (except 500mb~).

Watch it on a 42″ HDTV, and you will see a difference. Doesn’t make a lot of difference on your monitor.

If you have full HD display (upper 21 inch) or you watch video by projector, you can see the difference between two version.

you can see difference only if it was originally created in full-HD and BDs are not upscales. i haven’t yet dowloaded this but i’m afraid it’s upscale. KyoAni still haven’t released anything exept K-ON! in true HD 🙁

They both feel forced as hell to me.
I wasn’t raging, just stating a fact. It’s upscaled like kanon was. There’s just no point in doing a 1080p version imho.

He did that to show that Clannad BDs aren’t just a TV/DVD upscale.
If it was an upscale, the 720p DVD shot and the 720p BD shot would look exactly the same.
how do you turn on the karaoke?
Right click on Haali Splitter icon in tray and there is tracks/subtitles menu. Or DirectVobSub icon, depends on your codecs
Sorry, maybe I didn’t explain myself enough. What I was trying to say it that the 1080p is upscaled from the 720p of the same blu-ray. Take a look at the screen Holo posted at the top, and watch carefully Nagisa’s figure: it’s slighty blurred.
So, watching 720p (full screen) and 1080p on the same 1080p monitor/tv will be the same.
