On this day, 10 years ago, I started Doki Fansubs. 10 years later, we’re still here!
Although we have pretty much become a scanlation group these days (thanks, ix!), let’s not forget the TBs of anime that we have released over the years. Most of the batches are still being seeded. Do let us know if you need any torrents reseeding, as the Doki seedbox is still running, and will continue to do so for the forseeable future.
I started Doki at a time when fansubbing airing TV shows was on the decline due to the rise of legal streaming, but even so, we had a good run of 4-5 years. Of course, we ramped up the number of BDs we released to make up for it – we will probably continue to do BDs whenever we have time.
Finally, a shoutout to all the staff members who have contributed so much to the group over the years. Doki Fansubs would not have been the success it is without you guys.

Doki is the best! It’s the only manga and anime community where I feel at home! (^_^) It’s been fun to see you change and evolve over the years (though I do miss the days of active anime subbing from you guys…)! Isn’t that exactly what happens today? xP
I don’t recall any decline from legal streaming on the start of the 2000s or even around the 2010s, It mostly start taking over only around 2015+ on most of the world and also the reason we get now shitty sub (from people that probably should’ve never been put into this kind of work judging from the final result), more censored animes that either the creator took into account the western audience as he made that manga/anime or got paid by Netflix to go that way,
And ofc no OVAs and sometimes even no BDs
Now thx to that people are too lazy to fansub and some countries can take more legal resorts against these groups compared to the good old days.
The future of animes seem bright than ever…..
Legal streaming started taking off in around 2009, with Crunchyroll beginning to license a couple of shows each season. Within a couple of years, CR was licensing pretty much everything worth watching. Of course, these days there are other players as well, like Amazon and Netflix.
Me thinks it was still nothing compared to what we have today, back then it was on really small scale compared to 2015 and today ;/

Despite the fact that you stop releasing anime now, you’re still doing a lot of amazing things for the community, as mentioned already Mangadex.org project.
And my personal thanks goes for all 480p MKV releases that you did! That was the best ones I can find. I even replace my old archive of other groups with yours.

If I remember correctly, I first got introduced to the Fate Universe from Doki, with the TV reproduction Specials, then the Unlimited Blade Works movie.

I kinda miss all the fansub groups. Seems like it’s just HorribleSubs now and that’s about it.
And HS isn’t even a group. It’s a script that rips the various available official sources like CR.
I feel the same way. I miss the good old days…
I miss GOOD fansubs, Like Static Subs, Doki, Eclipse, Menclave etc. Unfortunately only shitty or terrible ones left (Commie trash, Shit Job Media etc).
