Aoba’s design is a testament to her hopeless banality. If she goes any further in her career than office grunt then New Game is a microcosm of the shitty modern working environment.
Momo did the best design. She thought about the players rather than herself. Yun’s design has flair but it’s totally self-serving.
Momo is following the true path of Yagami Kou. She should be the real protagonist of this manga. The adversities she and Narumi have overcome would make for far more interesting material, specially considering the author is fresh out of ideas for videogame design.
I think we all saw this coming, Aoba failing at the character design contest. But somehow, it does not disappoint. I think it was well executed, and we have the suspense of what’s going to happen in the next stage. Frankly, I think Aoba will lose this one, as the ultimate thing she needs to start believing in herself, push forward, and become as good as Kou.
Yeah I also think Aoba will probably lose this one. For the sake of character development not only for Aoba but pretty much everyone in the crew. And maybe some heartwarming content at this a of the contest.

I don’t know where you get your headcanon from, since none of it seems to have anything to do with any of the actual events of the story.
