New ED lyrics already?! Man, I wasn’t expecting that. Anyway, throughout the week, we at Doki headquarters have been hard at work thinking of names that we would translate Kabaneri to if we had to. Have a secret look see at our ideas:
«jakeman95» Kabaneri > PriCorpse
«krymsun00» I’m transistioning. Don’t label me.
«Pikminiman» krym identifies as dead. He’s trans-life.
«jakeman95» Transcorpse
«jakeman95» You transcorpse are all the same…
«jakeman95» No, even better, Corpsemen!
«krymsun00» Can we just TL everyone’s names?
«jakeman95» krymsun00, sure
«krymsun00» Ikoma = Living Chess Piece
«krymsun00» Fuck logic
«jakeman95» Mumei > Anon
«jakeman95» Kabane > Deadbody
«jakeman95» Kabaneri > Transcorpse
«jakeman95» Ikoma > Living Chess Piece
«jakeman95» Ayame > Siberian iris
«{\an8}» ironclad fortress > CHOO CHOO
These names coming soon to a release near you!

THIS! This has merit
Thumbs-up CHOO CHOO.
Doki Fansubs presents CHOO CHOO no Transcorpse.
LMAO. I replied to the wrong comment. Epic fail.
Rock on shojo 😀
You mean “Rock on girls”?
“shojo” is Japanese for “girl”, so that’s the same thing.
Choo choo! ^_^
I’m okay with Kabane and Kabaneri. Actual Japanese terms aren’t half bad, as long as everyone understands what those mean.
You’re cancer.
You’re a kabane after the cancer!
( ¬‿¬)
Dead is defined as the cease of metabolism in the body or something, isn’t it? You can’t cancer-up if the cancer cells don’t metabolise right?
Thanks for the ep. I like japanese terms the best, but I can see the appeal of CHOO CHOO 🙂
Now I want a troll track with these translations
That’s just the DDY release.
Yeah, they making fun out off their viewers by turned their subs into a joke and ruined their reputation in the progress. What a dumb thing to do.
Well another episode of the Railway of the dead!
Two days it takes you to sub this so I’m happy.
Also would it be a better idea to leave the name Wazatori as it is? have a little sub heading saying what it is and then leave the name as it is because it feels right somehow to leave it in Japanese.
The word wazatori is based off 技取り which more or less can be translated to skilled. It could be left as is, but it’s more of a subsection of them, not really a whole different “race” or whatever you want to consider the Kabane. So in this case it’s more like a skilled, or in a game sense, an Elite Kabaneri.
Hmmm you’re right I guess both ways works fine. But I think that the rokkon shojo should remain the same.
Partly that it’s going be said so many times in the show I think it might be best to leave it in it’s shorten japanese form. Not to mention that it does take up a bit of the screen because of it’s long meaning in english.
Just mention it once as what it is and leave it from then on.
Anyway tanks for the hard work.
Thank you!
I’m surfe that convo is jest but kabaneri just fine since it’s made up. Thanks for latest episode.
Also, no new poll? I’m itching to +1 on Mumei.
Don’t worry, it is all in jest… Tho, I have this strange desire to make an Easter egg patch for people to give them some lulz. But it will probably never happen cause I’m lazy.
There’s a mistake in the episode. @1:44 says corpse instead of Kabane which had that in episode 2 and 3.
Yep, it’s been pointed out internally. I’m actually surprised it hasn’t been mistakenly included in more episodes considering I keep using my original edit where I had considered TLing it.
Additionally, the BD script already has several changes, and a few other additions planned so it will be somewhat different than the TV script. I’m also hoping to be able to make out the BG songs for the BD… assuming the OST is clear enough or includes lyrics (which I’m not holding my breath for). But I think it’s at least partly in English.
Thanks!
Thanks for the release.
“Siberian Iris” sounds pretty. 😉
Please don’t translate it. Leave it “Kabaneri”. It’s a proper name.
Too late! The CHOO CHOO change is happening!
Oh… and thanks 🙂
Does rokkon shojo really mean that or are you just trolling?
Cleanse / Cleansing of the Six Roots of Evil?
Yes, it does mean that.
六 = six
根 = root (of evil/of all)
清浄 = pure / clean
If you’re talking the ‘Rock on shojo’ up in previous comments, they’re probably just going along with the lulzy ideas that were in the original post.
DDY are the new Commie, destined to ruin any anime (sorry cartoons) they pick up.
Help me Doki Wan Kadoki you’re my only hope.
