If you weren’t interested enough to watch all of TLRD I don’t know if this will interest you much more. There are more significant plot developments in this season, though.
If you’re talking strictly about the ‘Darkness’ series, it really is a great watch and unlike the OVA’s which are just softcore porn. This series stands on it’s own, so there’s no prior watching required. It has a good amount of plot and character development and a great OP. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and you will end up watching it mostly for the story and character interactions.

There is a preair Ep1 floating around, but the quality is horrible and it’s missing the OP/ED. Better to wait a week for the much better TV airing.

Unless you watch To LOVE-Ru to masturbate and/or you have no imagination you should watch. It’s still hilarious even with the censoring.

It will have both actual plot progression and fan service.

Same with me. I stopped watching S1 after 8 or 12 episodes.
But I watched S2 and this darkness version.
I like this TLR Darkness better than TLR S1 or S2.
