and using George wouldn’t necessarily make it correct either. i believe most people doesn’t pronounce George with -gee- at the end. so Jouji is more suitable imho

You should use CCCP ( http://www.cccp-project.net ).
Afterwards install the xy-vsfilter ( https://code.google.com/p/xy-vsfilter/wiki/Downloads?tm=2 ).

Afaik the version in CCCP is usually outdated…

Yeah it is. The CCCP 2014-04-20 version uses xy-vsfilter version 3.0.0.288. It’s higher then the last release which is 3.0.0.211 and they seem to have stopped working on it for a new filter called XySubFilter using madVR. https://code.google.com/p/xy-vsfilter/

I was using K-lite codec pack before that, not sure what was wrong with that but yea changing to CCCP solved the problem. Now I can experience the OP in all its glory without that stupid lag =)
I’m using K-lite and have no problem with the OP. The cause maybe broken filters. I like K-lite more because of embedded Codec Tweak Tool.
With it, I can tweak the filters setting to my liking. I even using it with SVP for smoother panning and zooming and OP still works fine.
Another K-Lite user here. I haven’t experienced any issue with the OP, either.
MPC’s internal subtitle renderer has drastically improved in speed and compatibility since v1.7.2. It’s now almost as fast, if not just as fast, as xy-vsfilter, and is what I use these days.
