Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei – 04

Sorry for the delay, which was caused by the TLC being first wasted and then hungover.

In this episode, a fateful girl appears. How can all the girls in this show be so cute? And for those who are so inclined, this episode is aplenty with sibling love.

We also updated the ED lyrics to the official ones. Enjoy!

  • Santa-san

I don’t know what to say ^^ romantic. And I agree, this is looking to be a great show

  • Widget

11:45 as well. Other than that, great release, and thank you!

Aghrrr… another thing horrible in this ep. Look at Haruka at 16:40. Voice is horrible and she freaking looks like a fat chibi char. Compare with what u get in LN or manga is simply way too different.

  • Dusty

Thanks for the episode! Just a few nitpicks here and there.

“You shouldn’t have tried confront those lovey-dovey siblings”
    to
“So, that’s why we sought solidarity in a clubs which doesn’t involve magic.”
    club that
“10% of the first-year students will receive counselling.”
    counseling
“And that they’re manoeuvering within the school…”
    Maneuvering
“A Magic High School student at Magic High School?”
Its literal translation is a little redundant IMO.

  • heyman

Afaik there is no illustration of her in LN and the manga illustrator is completely different than LN one. And funny thing is that LN illustrator is also character designer for the anime. I assume she looks how she should be.

  • Nermie

Will be watching this with the girlfriend when we have time. Thanks for the work on the show! Mibu Sayaka (kendo girl) is so adorable.

  • UNAP

Sign on time ‘6.43’ it is “Club Member Recruitment Week – 4th Day” not “First Day”.

  • Dusty

Hope I didn’t come off as rude. Thanks again! 🙂

  • Tiberium Wolf

You’re right. I dunno why I thought there was in LN. Anyway I prefer the manga version.

  • GG

Too bad the manga designs all look superior to the anime/LN, especially in Haruka’s case. Her entire character revolves around the Femme Fatale archetype with a dash of homeliness, but her design here doesn’t reflect her life style at all, nor does her face have a hint of temptress. You can shop her face on a loli and no one would know the difference.

Good release the “Counselling Room” sign was missing but other than that gj. P.S wheres my incest?!

  • Armada33

hey guys, why do you make so many easily rectifiable mistakes that mar such otherwise fine releases? Please be more careful in the future. Thanks again for an otherwise fine release!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dsgfdhjkujhfb

Thanks for the cap, 1 question, where you find the lyrics of ed(english)? Thanks again.

  • Clare

Could you guys get rid off that “Onii-sama” and other japanese shitty words?
It’s so damn annoying… “Big brother” would fit it (imo).

  • Clare

Yes, coz i’m not speaking japanese… srsly – we can live w/o it.

And CR sux balls here… kinda unexpected, but what to do?

    • Femto Zeta

there is meaning in them that can’t properly be translated to English, that’s why they use the Japanese words. a translation trying to explain the meaning would sound horrible compared to just using these words. so no, if you want a correct translation you can’t live without them.

    • Rawr

You sound really entitled. If you don’t like something, go elsewhere, seriously. You don’t speak for everyone.

  • Clare

    Bullshit.
Take a look for example – on Steins;Gate movie.
There were no single one stupid, retarded “chan, sama” etc in both BD and WhyNot releases… there is NO reason to translate or keep it… just get rid of them or replace it with names, Mr and others.
You know – people ain’t stone deaf.

U’re right, I do not speak for everyone, but that do not change the fact – japanese sux.
Have you ever seen an official movie translation including a stream of words from another language?
Guess why the answer is “no”…

    • Rawr

You typically hear the Chan, Kun, Sama etc in school based anime a lot, this is quite common. You also hear it in other types of shows but school ones are most evident. Also you hear when 2 characters are bro and sis, or Big sis little sis, or Big bro little bro etc. Or between school friends. Is it too Japanese for you?

And why compare to Steins Gate? The cast are older lol. Okabe isn’t in school, he’s 18 even. I’ll have to rewatch the movie to give an opinion on the honourifics in it as I wasn’t paying a lot of attention.

But if you’re using Steins Gate as a way to back up your argument its a really poor one. I recently finished Log Horizon and heard some honourifics. It’s COMMMMOOOOOOON(Emphasis on this)

    • This is probably the dumbest post of the year so far.

Your terrible English aside, this is purely a matter of opinion. The fact that you prefer western localisation isn’t really anything we care about. We use honorifics, Japanese name order and anything else we like.

If Japanese “sux” that much wait for an English dub and watch that instead. Speaking of which, I’ve heard dubs where they have kept honorifics in them. Granted it sounds laughable because they often not only swap the name order but the western VAs also generally make a mockery of the Japanese names, but they are still used.

  • Jakeman95

The simple answer is not happening. Our choice is to keep honorifics. If you don’t like them, you are free to chose one of the other options or extract the script, remove them yourself, and then watch it.

Just as there are people like you who don’t like honorifics/Japanese conventions we use, there are many people who want them and those are who we cater to. Complaining about it isn’t going to change it.

    007
Bond-san = Mr. Bond (okay, sounds fine)
James Bond-san Mr. James Bond (lol wtf?)
James-san = Mr. James (have you ever used Mr. for a first name? get real plz)
