I watched the entire thing, there’s two spots I found the translation was wrong to me when I watched it.
The sections where the title of the anime has 入学編 I at the middle and at the end of the episode, 入学編 is Nyūgaku Hen, which is translated as ‘Enrollment Chapter’ not Freshmen as that is not that correct title for the arc itself.
The other one was when Leo was talking to Erika after she disarmed Morisaki. Leo was suspecting that Erika wanted to strike his hand too. Which is why Erika would feign ignorance on that, not about interfering with what Leo was doing. The Japanese terms for ‘hand’ and ‘strike’ were in that line of his.
Besides those 2 things, the translation is the best out of all the groups I’ve seen it.

I deliberately chose to not translate 入学 as ‘enrolment’, because I think the words refer to slightly different things. ‘Enrolment’ typically includes the whole process of getting into a school, such as applications, entrance exams and such, whereas 入学 can simply refer to starting school. (That’s why we can have words like 入学式 (“entrance ceremony”), but not ‘Enrolment ceremony’.) Even though ‘Freshman’ isn’t the most literal translation, I think it conveys the same meaning as the Japanese: it’s saying that this arc is about the characters starting school, and an introduction to them and the world of Mahouka.

Watakushi’s subs are inaccurate and riddled with terrible spelling and grammar, which is why I refer to them as Hadena 2.
Sure Ash. Sure. You don’t speak the language therefore your judgement carries about as much weight as the air as far as “translation accuracy” and the grammar in that release was very watchable. I can only recall two instances where the sentences didn’t flow forcing a stop, reread.

This has caused an unnecessary amount of confusion, lol. Miyuki was born in March the year after Tatsuya. Because school in Japan starts in April, they’re in the same school year.
Makes sense. Not to mention they seem to love the older brother younger sister thing in anime.
I see, just thought it was weird seeing that for the first time. Though that won’t stop me from enjoying this anime. ^^
I swear the whole romantic music they keep using for those moments with Miyuki and Tatsuya made me laugh.

when i first learned that Mahouka would get a anime i was thrilled, but i got a bit disappointed that they changed some stuff in the anime that was totally different in the manga, no idea if it was the same as manga in the LN though
Maybe they’ll stay loyal to the LN material(Overall story)? They have it down as being a 26 episode series so they must want to get through as much of the LNs as they can.
