Edit: Thanks to everyone who expressed interest. We are good for now.
Doki are in need of one more typesetter. If you would like to learn to typeset, please get in touch.
Please drop by #doki-recruits and email holo@doki.co.
Some notes:
- You don’t need to know japanese (all translation will be supplied).
- Patience and dedication is required.
For those that don’t know what typesetting is, it’s basically adding subs for signs inside shows (basically this only not as nearly as bad). Most shows only have like 1 – 2 signs, either containing the episode title or some in-house sign that says “Class 3-A” or something.
Edit: If you typeset like this, your application will probably be misplaced.
If I didn’t recently move to somewhere where the top Down Speed was >100kB/s, this would be something I’d be very interested in. First time posting, but have always loved watching Doki subs, and have been 2 years loyal so far.
I am interested, please teach me
Hmmm, very interested, but living in Spain surely brings lots of schedule problems :/
What timezone do you use for reference? Here is GMT+2.
Hi guys i would like to know if you guys will do the Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai Specials.
You mean the ones we are already doing?
I’m interested. I have free time.
At first I thought the title said “Typesetting a Recruiter”. I’m not sure what this implies.
This.
hey guys, i just want to know, what program do you use to edit your subs? thanks in advance.
Aegisub. What else?
That’s basically the only software that can do ASS (so softsubs with some decent styling and effects)
Pretty easy to say that, but if you’ve never touched subs before you aren’t likely to have heard of it, are you now?
I am not applying, simply wanted to say how much I admire the person that was typesetting in the reference video. Honestly I thought the simple signs I usually do for the freelance stuff I do was complicated. But they took it far beyond where I am at, skill level wise. I mean it also doesn’t help that I can’t use Mocha which hinders what I can do as I have to do everything by hand. But I just want to bow down at their feet for the work they did on that episode.
Lol I feel the same, oh wow. Just saw that youtube video, it looks like a painfully slow job, much respect to whoever does the Doki ones.
Dat typeset looks superior /fagface
I wish to learn from the masters
