I usually love naruto shippuuden, but OAVs reallu suck

i downloaded this one and watched last night

what a piece of cra* :/

the story is ridiculous and the only point of interest is the fight between Naruto and the enemy, which is actually 5 minutes at the end of the OAV

otherwise, it’s getting worth and worth 🙁

oh no!! doki just turn being gay.

  • lanky

    Lol haters… so many haters.

Not too sure why people rage, if you don’t like it don’t watch it. Doki still subs everything else, so what does it matter if they release this?

If anything, it’s just a good troll on the people who don’t like the show.

So well done doki, troll points AND a good sub. I like.

Seriously though, this is one massive surprise. Never thought the day would come when I would see a Naruto release on Doki lol. 😛 I was waiting for Taka’s release (they are being slow as usual…), since I don’t wanna go with Hatsuyuki, but I definitely have to give this one a try! 🙂 I’ll compare it with Taka’s version once that comes out, to see how your version fares, but I have high hopes! 🙂

Was hoping for more Minato fights but just got a lot of boring dialogue. Most of the fights were okay, but lasted like 2 minutes. Eh, so disappointing.

    Thanks for translating though.

    • Rokudaime

Well…I was a little dissapointed with this one (though it was better than all the others, which all sucked)…The story was better than in any of the other Naruto movies (doesn’t take much though, since all the other movies were rubbish plot-wise imo), but the action was rather underwhelming to me…In fact, I’d say that the action at the end of Blood Prison was much cooler, even though that movie sucked ass otherwise…Oh well. ┐( ̄_ ̄)┌

      • I liked this and The Lost Tower. Bonds was okay too.

        • Rokudaime

Bonds was ok, but I hated The Lost Tower. :-/ Probably my least favourite of the Shippuuden movies. And I had really high hopes and expectations of it too, since it had Minato in it, so I was very dissapointed…

          • Articus

I don’t even remember Lost Towers xD. Is that the one where they go back in time or something and Minato is like in Anbu or something?

At this point, the original Naruto has better movies, since the fights were more fun to watch (especially all of the ones with Rock Lee xD).

I’ve given up on Minato in the movies. Now, I turn my eyes to 2nd Hokage since he also had space-time jutsu. Hopefully they have a movie where they show more of him and his fighting.

          • Rokudaime

Ye, that’s the one. And ye, Minato always seems to dissapoint me in the movies, even though he’s so awesome in the series…I have to disagree about the original Naruto movies being better than Shippuuden ones though. I hated every single one of them. Imo Bonds and Road to Ninja are the only semi-decent Naruto movies, and even then, they’re not all that great. Maybe I’m just picky…

Also, Tobirama has space-time ninjutsu? First time I’ve heard of that…I thought his most defining trait apart from all his Water Style ninjutsu techniques was the fact that he invented Edo Tensei. If he has space-time ninjutsu as well, he’s starting to sound more overpowered than I thought he was, though that wouldn’t be a first…I still don’t understand how ultra-powerful Madara could struggle against Hashirama, when Hiruzen was able to hold his own against both Hashirama AND Tobirama…It doesn’t add up to me…The Hashirama that fought Madara sounds way too powerful to me to be the same guy I saw fighting against Hiruzen in part 1 of Naruto. :-/

          • As explained by Orichimaru later, the Hashirama that he summoned to fight Hiruzen in part 1 of the series was very limited in his power and what he could do.

          • Minatao even says that Madara’s transportation jutsu far excedes the 2nd’s and his. So yeah, he does have it, you just don’t pay attention!

          • Rokudaime

Aha, ok, thanks for clearing those things up. ^^’ About Hashirama though: odinigh, has Orochimaru explained that yet in the anime, and I just missed it, or has it not happened there yet?

          • It hasn’t happened in the anime yet. ( ¬‿¬)

          • Rokudaime

            Ah, ok. 😛

  • Liero

    Bbbbbbelieve it!

    • Where the hell did that come from?

      • Rawr

Lol. He/she got that from the Naruto dub, they translated Dattebayo as Believe it in English 😛

        • Rokudaime

Ye, and I never understood why they did that…As is shown through the subs for both Naruto and Killer Bee several times in the Japanese anime, “te ba yo” (or alternatively, Kushina’s “te ba ne”) means something like “you know”, so they should have just gone with that, even if “dattebayo” is kind of a nonsensical “word”. Also, seriously, the voice acting for Naruto in the English dub is one of the most horrible and obnoxious voice overs ever, so they really didn’t need to make him EVEN MORE annoying by having him say something as retarded as “believe it!” all the time…Sigh…As always, anime dubs suck. ┐( ̄_ ̄)┌

          • Rawr

I never did get why they got an old woman to voice Naruto in the dub. You’d think they’d get someone with talent, closer to the characters age to do it. That being said it’s not bad, it’s watchable.

That being said I guess they were just wanting to be literal when translating and wanted a catch phrase of sorts when Naruto says Dattebayo for the dub. Not sure..

          • Rokudaime

            1. “That being said it’s not bad, it’s watchable”:

            2. “That being said I guess they were just wanting to be literal when translating and wanted a catch phrase of sorts when Naruto says Dattebayo for the dub”:
Translating “dattebayo” as “believe it!” is anything but literal. It’s extremely liberal. “Dattebayo” doesn’t mean “believe it!” at all . It doesn’t mean anything that remotely resembles “believe it!”.

  • heyman

I noticed two things that bothered me.
1: “Ero-sennin” and “perverted hermit” were used alternately.
2: “Occhan” was translated as “brother”.

    • Aieon

It’s got a bit harder to pick up on that, especially when you’re used to seeing both. ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌

As for the second point, we make it a point to translate it when it’s used to refer to the person (as opposed to addressing them).

  • Zero Unfinished

    I love Naruto Shippuuden Thanks
