It only has a second “i” because we’ve been writing it that way. The properly-transliterated spelling would be “OniAi.” The Japanese love to abbreviate things down to four syllables, and that’s exactly what o-ni-a-i contains*. o-ni-i-a-i would be five.
*It’s also written that way (in Japanese) in the previews.
And once again I fail spectacularly in replying to the proper person. That was supposed to be in response to Meneldal.
Fail.
Not to mention “oni ai” demon love. Which was the joke he made.
He also made the statement that there “was a second ‘i’ in this one,” and I was simply pointing out that there’s only a second “i” because we are technically writing it wrong.
In other words, he was supposedly correcting the poster, when in fact the poster had it right.
Oh, I get it. You sing it as “…Oniiai Juu-Ichi!”
I hope Santa-san has a finished Kokoro Connect on his list of pending deliveries.
