I was eagerly waiting for this one. One of the best (if not best) romance anime IMO. Thanks!
Pleasant surprise π
Hmmm… I thought its also a batch… hehehe! Thanks for the release! π
Wow, it was almost a year ago now that I worked on these scripts. Can’t tell you how pleased I am that THE GREATEST LOVE STORY EVER TOLD has finally been released.
Is there any option to see this in 720p 8bit?
Wow, Thanks!
gg instead of AniYoshi? The fuck.
I have to agree with this sentiment.
At least Doki is nice enough to let the creators of the show still have their name appear in the credits, unlike Coalgirls.
As Alastor had requested.
Can we have it in 720p 8bit too?
no 720p 8-bit? D=
Thanks! π
I too am hoping for a 720p 8bit, all my BD versions are doki because you still do 8 bit.
I heard Kira-Fansub going to release this BD in 8bit and use AniYoshi sub
Thanks for the tip! Will check that encode out (for the sub group, I’d rather it be 10-bit honestly). I hope Kira doesn’t restyle the subs too small like they did OreImo.
Rewatched this not too long ago. Still, I’ll be downloading the BD batch for sure.
please i also want a 720p BD 8bit thanks
The torrent links point to anime-index instead of pointing to minglong. Now I don’t have to get CG’s
I’ll be waiting for the day when Doki goes full 10-bit, from 480p 10-bit to 1080p 10-bit. That would be awesome!
Ps: For the complainers: 10-bit is happening, you can’t stop it. If lots of people start using it then companies will start making 10-bit compatible media-centers.
Because anime-index is _our_ tracker.
Minglong is used as a secondary tracker.
Thanks, might have been a problem on my end, because I couldn’t get the torrent from anime-index so I got it from minglong.
8-bit: Takes nothing away from you, does it, those who like hi10P? Encodes are about trade-offs and niches. 8-bit 720p and hi10P-720p fulfill totally different hardware niches and needs. More options means more people can enjoy HD anime, and more people come to your website. Fewer options means fewer people. Where’s the win in that?
Actually it does take something away. It takes away quality at a comparably lower file size as well as decreased banding. And if you want to talk about niches, I would say that the HTPCs and old laptops that can’t play 10-bit video are a niche in themselves. The fact that you haven’t updated you machine to a decent dual-core option or limited yourself to a low-power garbage CPU HTCP is something you have control of, and shouldn’t dictate the progress of encoding technology and use.
Its not just PC power HawkEyeTS, I run an i7 and I still prefer 8 bit. I have yet to find authoring software that doesn’t crash with a 10 bit encode. Not everyone likes to sit in front of a monitor to watch anime, I prefer my 50″ and a burnt BD of doki’s material.
DEAL WITH IT.
You should hook up the i7 to the 50″ as a secondary monitor.
@Sum_of_Thunder
Incorrect.
Just enjoy ur anime in ur shitty plastic toy, dude
Hmm. How did the double comment happen?
hell yeah, Doki picking this up!!
nice choice Doki~
and how about other releases?
See the BD update page.
uh, ok…
Just asking…
^^ Pleasant surprise indeed. Thanks a bunch guys.
Is there going to be 1080p version of this release?
Since I don’t see it, I’m assuming no but I figure I ask anyways?
Apparently, it a lecturous upscale, and will not be getting 1080p encodes.
>1080p
>JC Staff
no. unless it’s movie
Things like this are why I need to buy myself a nice big external HDD.
Yo, ero. 30-sai BDs… come TLC! π
Seriously? I thought those were never coming out at this point. IRC. I’m on it right now.
Thanks for this, one of my favorite shows π
Will this be including the Mystery Episode that was supposed to come originally with the Blu-Ray release?
Yes, the BDs did come with a new bonus episode. Yes, we will sub it.
I love you ΒΊ(>w<)ΒΊ
Awesome! My favorite RomCom of all time got BluRay releases! Too bad GG was used instead of AniYoshi. QQ Still though, over 500MB for a 720p is starting to get annoying. My hard drives are running out of space, HDD’s are still at 70% inflation since the Thailand incident, and its getting easier now to hit the stupid AT&T 150GB limit crap.
Honestly, if it was me and had to choose between FLAC (which is causing the bloat) and AAC, I’d rather download the file which has AAC in it. And offer the FLAC for the people who want it. If they can tell the difference between FLAC and AAC then they “should” be smart enough to use MKVMerge.
Just my 2 cents.
I agree that aac should be standard and flac an extra download, because aac at 320Kbps VBR is half the size of the flac version and there is no difference between the two. Studies proved that no NORMAL person can hear the difference between the two.
You seem to just be suggesting something that would merely benefit yourself.
Want to save disk space? download the 480.
Want to save disk space? Buy the BD box set.
Will the BD be available in the U.S.? I just might do that.
Google.com
Download time is the only problem, since I got plenty of space. I got a few of CG’s releases and I re-encoded all of the from flac to aac at 320Kbps VBR. This saved me on average 1GB space per 12 episodes. As for the quality difference, even my very expensive Razor Headphones can’t pic up the difference and I am very good at noticing quality differences.
so? the point is?
it’s ur problem, not us.
also
saving 1 GB from about 10 GB is not worth with the effort (re-encoding all of it)
Do you think you could make a guide? Or maybe redistribute those aac’s with a script to fix it, I too am tired of all this bloated FLAC.
^another kind of faggotry
demux it, convert it, and mux it again
u know how to use mkvmerge, don’t u?
Of course there is much difference between the sound of aac and flac. its just, people normally don’t have a decent speakers/headphones to hear the difference. But i myself was hoping for a 720p-aac release.
I don’t agree with that, bitch.
saying it’s bloat when u downloading 1080p anime, what a dumb
Wrong.
Actually, 10bit h264 will pretty much be abandoned when the h265 codec is finalized in January. Google/Youtube and Netflix are pushing hard for hardware media streamers with branding agreements like Roku and WDTV to be compatible with the draft spec, since it will save them tons of bandwith.
Of course, knowing our beloved fansubbers we’ll be having this same arguement 4 years from now about how 16bit h265 looks so much better than 12bit. π
And I’ll be there. Encoding shit that half the leechers will be unable to watch due to their comps’ incompetence.
I’m really happy about this, but like many others here, I’m also really sad to see gg being used for the original subs, rather than AniYoshi. I can’t stand gg’s localisation crap. That said, they dropped this show after the first 4 episodes, did they not? :-/ So whose subs will be used for the rest? And will you be editing gg’s subs to match the style you typically use, or will they be left with gg’s trademark localised style?
Since when have we ever left a script localised.
Good to hear. ; ) So whose subs will you be using for episode 5 and onwards?
I’d assume that qq and Coalguys will be used for future episodes; delocalizing and detrolling those (and Coalgirls already detrolled them) will produce better overall results than AniYoshi’s awkward overliteral mess.
Oh God no, Coalguys? I’m fine with qq, but Coalguys never do anything right…and I still think AniYoshi is the better choice.
I think you should’ve had a question mark at the end of your question instead of a period.
hows the gg subs for this anime? from my experiences they often have troll subs
you do realize that they’re the only one that complete subbing Break Blade?
Not true. Section23 Films finished subbing it as well.
>searched at TT
>find nothing
>turn out it was american company
do I give a fuck about that?
Are you having a bad day, or are you always such a swearing, rude jerk? I agree with your sentiments, both on US subbing companies and the use of FLAC/saving HD space, but I don’t like your attitude. You don’t have to be such a bitch about it. Learn to act a little civilised, yeah?
I don’t like any kind of faggotry.
and expecially hate people that think US is everything is this world.
that’s it.
case closed.
Well, it’s true I hate those kinds of people as well.
