Btw Holo, I was wondering, why are you using FLAC for 720p in this show, and not AAC as always? Is it because Doki won’t be doing the 1080p version?
The highest res version always gets FLAC as it’s audio. Usually it would be the 1080, but since there is no 1080 the 720 gets the honour.

Yes, FLAC goes to the highest resolution the show gets, if it gets 720p or higher.
Since there won’t be a 1080 for this show, 720p gets FLAC.
The good old days when anime series DVD-s contained like 5-6 eps, not 2 like today…

Boxsets come with 5-6 a disk. Monthly volumes come with 2 eps, lol. Milk otaku’s money.
What “good old days”? Pretty much *all* Japanese anime releases have only had 1-3 eps per volume, whether they were being released on VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, or Blu-Ray. The R2J DVD release was in fact 12 discs. The only reason these Lucky Star Blu-Rays have more eps per disc is because it’s a boxed-set only release coming out long after the initial release. If it’d been released on BD back in 2007-08, it would’ve been 2-3 eps per disc at the most.
the good old days of 2000 or pre, when Lodoss and Escaflowne were boxed and 2002 when Berserk’s ”box of war” sold out… 25eps 6 cd’s, and production images.

Holo meticulously encodes each and every episode by hand, arranging all the bits with extremely fine tweezers.
I think by chroma, he meant the chromatic plane of the video. As you might know, these videos aren’t encoded in RGB, but in YV12, which means there’s one luma plane which contains the brightness information and two chroma planes which contain the colour information. And, just to prevent questions, the video is usually like that on the BluRay as well, so there hasn’t happened some weird colour conversion.

Yeah, pretty disappointed since I was hoping to watch Shana 2 in BD before Season 3 started, but whatever.
The only reason that hasn’t taken effect is because of the quality of the Blu-ray or something.
