iDOLM@STER does have a VN-esque side to it so the date-vibe is nothing to be surprised about but if you meant the animation, it did looked different. Would have to compare it with other episodes but it looked rougher.
Probably saving animation budget for a later episode. I expected a bit more drama in this episode than what was shown, I guess no budget for that either :p. Too many girls, not enough episodes to go around I guess. I still like this anime though.
