I say you quit while you’re ahead. Not only is the manga adaptation a shoujo, most spoilers I’ve read from novel readers make it sound like Bones is actually cutting out the most iffy parts. So yeah, if it smells as such it may be because it is. I’m sure we all knew he was gay the moment he turned down a point-blank sex offer to follow the faint muttering of some random boy he saved years ago.
