Episode 16 will use editions. By default is the edition without the ED, because let’s face it, after that happens, you really don’t want to hear an upbeat ED, do you?
Edition 2 will play the file as normal. Just note, The ED sequence is present in the file, but just “hidden” in edition 1. That means, I did not cut it out of the episode.
If enough people disagree with my use of editions, I will remove it in the batch.
I will release Volume 5 on Thursday, then I will begin the encoding of Lucky Star while working on Haruhi. Haruhi will be complete next week. The week after, I will release Lucky Star.

Hmm… I forgot how depressing this is… A good kind of depressing… which seems weird as I type it…
Seems a waste to cut out the EDs, the Emotional Whiplash being kind of the whole point of the ED in After Story.

I wouldn’t play be the creator. That happy ending after that moment is a deliberated move by the director and shouldn’t be changed. I would understand if it was a fanservice moment but such a warm ending with ‘her’ was indispensable for not being totally crushed after watching that episode.
I will let majority opinion decide. If enough people feel like you do, I will remove editions in the batch.

Thank you! I always had to rush to click before the ED started playing, that song really killed the atmosphere, ruining the enjoyment factor… It will be so much better to just sit back and enjoy crying my eyes out.
Please excuse my ignorance: how is the ending ‘hidden’ in the first edition? Is there a way to ‘turn it on’ / how does one access the hidden video clip?

I do not have an opinion on this matter. As long I have the episode, everything is fine.
Editions are awesome! Please keep them in! I like the idea of being able do decide wheather to see certain parts of an episode or not without having to skip those parts manually. You may also save filesize by cutting out the OP/ED and reinsert them as independent files via Editions.
For me, ED really ruined the atmosphere of “that scene”. I think edition with hidden ED is a good thing. If someone wants it with ED, there is edition 2 for them so everyone should be happy.
I think you can encode 2versions.
One is hiding the ED,and one is not.
I think the ED is so important and suitable for this episode.And I perfer to download the full version one.
The ED is in this version. You just need to click something to enable it.

I think you should make the default edition play normally, and people who don’t want to have the ED can switch.
I’d rather have the edition in which the ED is present as the default one.
^ This. Might as well make the ending default in line with previous episodes, then leave the option as another edition. And really, when I don’t want to watch an ENDING, I close the damn file.
