CRF 16? The first season was CRF 14. Why Doki? Clannad ~AS~ is even better than Clannad.
First season was only in 480 and 720, this time you will be able to get 1080.
Doki released 1080p for the first season, and it was CRF 14.
Time to swap my 720 then i guess!
That aside, I’m sure the quality on these will be just as good, if not better than the first season, even at a higher CRF.

Hi guys, just a heads up on 2 minor issues:
1. There’s a rectangle in the karaoke subs. MPC-HC + internal sub renderer: http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/4199/cafm.png
2. Can anyone else hear a slight “static” sound @ 00:03 and 00:08-09. I have compared it to Eclipses TV release which doesn’t seem to have it (not really a good comparison given a different source and Vorbis vs AAC) and OST .mp3 @320Kb which does have it but less noticeable. I can’t really describe it, it’s like the sound of those small firework “sticks” which you light up and they slowly burn out (fml, forgot the name)
Not really a big deal, just wondering if anyone else hears it. Could very well be good, crystal clear BD source. 😛
What you are hearing there are clipping artefacts. Apparently, the one who recorded/mastered the track is deaf, since it is like that ON CD THEY SOLD too.
That’s what happens when labels participate in loudness wars.
There are far worse examples though, for example ED1 of Shana S1 was unbearable to listen to due to sound distortions.
I can confirm the same artifacts are on the CD.
I never realized it. Now I’ll always hear it.

Same here. I’ve never noticed the 00:03 one, just now, it’s too small, doesn’t bother much. But the 00:08-09 yes, I’ve heard that “static” before, but didn’t recognize it as “artifacts”. I thought it was made on purpose, although it’s quite bothersome. I can’t believe such obvious defect could pass mastering and made onto the final CDs. And more with such a nice song from Lia ;_;
never use internal MPC-HC subs renderer : it’s buggy, animation don’t workk and there are a lot of fonts problems.
just disable subtitles in the subtitle menu of MPC HC and then open FFDShow video control panel, and activate the subtitle checkbox (leave the default options)
no more square and animated karaoke.
Or… update to the latest nightly of MPC-HC.

Well, opened the file in Aegisub, and there’s a rectangle there. Replacing it with a space fixes the issue for me:

I use the latest release version of MPC-HC x64 on Vista. I can’t see that block on the 720p I got and I use MPC’s internal subtitles. Subpicture animation is a setting on MPC-HC that is off by default, you can change it in the options along with subtitle texture resolution. MPC-HC’s internal subtitle renderer is based on the same libass code as DirectVobSub/VSfilter.
I’ve never had any problems with MPC-HC internal subtitles. Maybe you have an old version, Krysstof?

What’s the point of a Blu-Ray if you’re just going to download an SD AVI of it? You might as well just download SS-Eclipse’s – at 480p there wouldn’t be a quality differance anyway.
