Well, the note is true. Back when I watched Air, I was crying since episode 8 onwards, like, constantly. Episode 12 was no exception, as a matter of fact, I don’t think I’ve ever felt so bad after watching a season finale.
(Having watched all of Air in one Wednesday afternoon might also have to do with it. I give you a very very very good hint: DON’T watch it all in one day, it’ll make you an emotional wreck.)
I agree, watching all of Air in one sitting can make you feel so depressed and so angry at why such a thing has to happen to such an innocent girl.
The BGM is so perfect too, after finishing Air, you will want to cry everytime you hear Tori no Uta in the following week, I promise you.
Even watching the extended OP afterwards, and reading the “1000th summer”… the tears start again ;_;

i watched air in 1 day for the first time and i cried . wich is rare . very rare . after that hearing tori no uta made me cry after 4 times it stopped tho . and now rewatching the serie in blue ray 1 ep at a time still makes my cry .

i forgot that a few years ago i finished watch AIR….and u know what?
my heart hurt so much…i couldn’t forget that tragic end ;_;
and now it still affect me….now when i write a story….i love to make it sad….or tragic…..;_;
nothing better than sad stories if u want to remember them for a long time… XD
when u cry from sad scenes in anime just shows that u got emotions . in real life if i see some1 having a horrible live and crying etc. it doesn’t affect me .. you could call it having a steel heart but anime like elfen lied kannon and air and sola make me cry .
And those monks they fail . why curse someone ? kill them directly instead of depending on the occult
