An upscale means that quality will be improved to 720p, but it does not air naturally like that.
In other words, it airs in SD and then uses upscaling technology to increase the resolution to HD.
The thing about upscales is, they usually still look better than what your player can achieve on-the-fly, so i’d probably go with the upscale.
Another thing, there is at least one typo in this release, you called Yako-chan Mako-chan once. And, when Nayu was talking to this older guy, i think she didn’t meant herself when she said “.. kono ko mo ureshii yo”… but that’s just me :3
The interesting thing about this anime is that it’s the first time i heard a seiyuu say something in english that didn’t make me cringe at the pronunciation.

I checked out all the “HD” raws I could find and they all sucked (blur, faded colors, not to mention bigger size) compared to the one SD I got, so I think a 720p version is pointless. If they ever release this on BD, then do it in 720p. Thanks for doing this show by the way.

Your avi (SDs) should be better geht die size 704×396 ; so that it is also playable on dvd players.
When you do the v2 (and for your future releases), you should crop out the station boarders (the black lines at the top and bottom of the picture). It’ll look nicer =P
