So, long time worker, first time releaser here. After watching episode one, I was like wow, Mumei is hot, and the MC actually has some balls. Thus, I decided that this would be my first release (despite having worked on many others). So, here you go, episode 01 of Koutetsujou no Kabaneri. Episode 02 should be coming within the next two days.

Now about that pripara.
/looks at Kuzu
Hoping to see “Mumei” and not No-Name (barf) and other not-localized to hell from this. Checking it out.
Yep, downloaded and jumped around to find that specifically. Glad to see a script that doesn’t pull me out the show. Thanks Doki!
Just finished watching it, glad Jakeman and Doki staff doing this and other shows.
Forgot to add there’s (nice) karaoke too!
Kara is always nice if it’s Jocko!
Karaoke is one of the reasons why I prefer fansubs over official DVDs/BDs. Though, I don’t think that effects are always a must or fitting (Doki’s are always fitting xD).
noice
TV source uncensored?
There hasn’t been anything that I’ve noticed to be censored. If there is, they actually took their time to censor it well.
Excellent 🙂 Doki makes me happy so frequently :3
On a side note, any signs of Return of Kings being done? Purely curious 🙂
Thanks again for the release!!
Thank you kindly
Wow! Getting this one is a suprise… I’ll replace my copy from other group with this one… Thanks!
Pikmini pls
???
Doki is love! <3
Dōmo arigatō! _o_
Just started watching this on Amazon Prime Video! Already on Ep 2.
Think I’ll wait to download until the BluRay come out. Gonna bet your translation’s better though.
TBH, their script TL is fairly good. But, the JP isn’t that wordy, so it’s fairly straight forward. HOWEVER their song TL is just garbage.
Oh I was wondering will anyone else sub this and to my pleasant surprise Doki is going to sub it as well. horray!
And
*bows down and starts worshiping another Doki subbing project*
My watch list grows, and grows, and grows…
The day needs to have more hours xD
Thanks for releasing, jake! 🙂
Ye, I’m familiar with that problem…Wish I could stop time for a couple years or something so I could do nothing but work through my backlog until I’ve finished it all, and then start up time again.
And when one pile is gone, the next will come. Not being picky about what you watch can be bad.
This is why I never get to any of my backlog. I always end up watching like 10-20 series each season…
And you still have time to do stuff here. Passion for the win!
Btw, nice Homura pic. Best girl 🙂
That show is pretty good!
Sounds good. What is it about?
Take Shingeki, replace titans with zombies and medival setting with steampunk.
Hmm… Will try the first episode. Though, zombies are not really my thing (exept in Gakkou Gurashi).
Normally you’d say “sounds good” after asking “what is it about?”
Not me xD
Is there a reason you translated “Koutetsujou” as “Armoured Fortress” when the show itself calls it the “Iron Fortress”?
Actually, if you look at the post for 02, we’re going with Ironclad now. This is because koutetsujou is actually a term used for armour, and not “iron”. It DOES have the kanji for iron in it, but really should be TL’d to something about armour. And it’s funny, in the official TL, they don’t even TL the train’s name, possibly due to their dislike of using iron cause it isn’t the best TL for it.
But it’s a name. I hope you don’t think Greenland is literally green, or an iron lung has to strictly be made from iron.
And kanji and official TL aside, the title literally says “Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress”.
Sure, yes, it is a name. And while I wouldn’t say it’s a bad translation, there are better ones for it. Why follow with a lessor translation when a better one is available? I would much rather use a correct translation than an “official” translation any day.
Correct translation > official translation > Dub
Mostly.
