She is surrounded by idiots.
It has been brought to my attention that for some of the names, the official romanizations used in the original light novels are different from what we’re using. For example, officially, Thouars would be Twoearle, Ultimegil would be Ultimaguil, and Lizardgildy would be Lizard Guildy.
For now we’re using our own romanizations, but the issue was discussed widely by our Twintails staff, and as we were unable to come to a conclusion, we’d like to ask for your opinion, dear viewers. Would you prefer that we use the official romanizations instead, even if some of them are a bit… weird? Or do you think it’s better we use our own romanizations (which most of us think make more sense) even though they’re not “official”? Any other opinions?
Thank you for your feedback, and enjoy the episode!

So long as it’s consistent, I’m good.
That said, if you use the “official” roman naming, then at least if there’s anything that I’d like to discuss about it somewhere other than here, people will know what the hell I’m talking about. Maybe.
I say stick with what you’re using. The official romanizations you listed seemed very strange, and just 2 episodes is enough for me to get used to a certain romanization.
It’s Dog Days character names all over again. Those names are weird indeed. Me, Personally, would stick with official no matter how strange it looks in romaji form.
Original or official names, I’m fine with either.
near the end of the preview in this ep, how about “beauty and the beast” over “pretty girl and the monster”
for a nicer ring imo
Official.
If there is no official romanizations then fuck it, you can do whatever you want, otherwise just go with official romanizations because that is what the author create for the character(s).
This isn’t always the case. The author isn’t always the one with the final say in official romanizations. There’s also the cases where the official names are changed by the English localization. And let’s remember they sometimes don’teven seem to realize how fucking stupid the romanization is (especially in contrast to how they pronounce it).
So in the end it’s all a matter of preference (making sense vs being strictly official).
Can’t pronounce it either way
so just leave it
Isn’t this usually where you just have two subtitle scripts and pick one as default?
It would be the most emcompassing option (letting everyone have their way), but I dunno if this may require further workon their side (I’m no expert after all).
Official
Doki’s version. I prefer your versions over official. I watched HorribleSubs’ version, and the names just didn’t feel right.
My bad, Senketsu Subs’ version.
Tail Red best Tail
Thanks for the episode 3.
I say go with the official, make it consistent with everyone that way. To me it definitely sounds like they’re saying the official romanization of her name, but the other 2 are negligible.
official 100% !!!
I vote for going with Doki’s as long it’s consistent. “Official” romanisations might be from the publishers/editors and not the author, plus some of them do look rather hilarious.
Why not both? 🙂
Default script with Doki’s and the other one with official romanisations. Could be done with the Batch or when they do the BD’s ^^
Or this ^ Not much harder just to do a quick name swap in Aegisub then remux an “official” track on too.
Why is Japan always so awful at romanisations. It’s just bad if the written name is nothing like the audio. Use your own.
