I hope it won’t end up like Idolmaster. I don’t think I’d be able to wait for months. You should find a way to keep your TL from disappearing, like abduction or stuff like that.
I keep trying to tell people that the IM@S TL hasn’t “disappeared”; he just stopped doing anything productive. We know where he is….
You should probably switch him out regardless though, if he’s that lazy…

Well, how about trimming some of the fat from your staff then? Seriously, Holo was never ruthless enough. If someone is unreliable or isn’t doing any work for the group, then get rid. Your staff page looks disgustingly bloated for a group that struggles to keep up with two airing shows this season. The BD department is running just fine, maybe because there’s no rush on a BD project.
Eh, I’m blatantly being a bastard here but Doki used to be better. If your TLs are going walkies then it suggests they either a) Can’t be arsed (In which case, kick them to the curb, yeesh.) or b) Don’t like working for Doki (In which case something needs fixing internally.) It might be something else entirely. Regardless, something is going pretty badly at Doki HQ and questions need to be asked. Who’s at fault? Who’s actually contributing to the group and who’s just sat in the staff room trolling? Fansubbing isn’t a job, but as a hobby people should be able to enjoy it. Why aren’t people enjoying working for Doki?
Blah. Props to the guys who are working hard to get stuff released and keep the group moving forward. To the guys who aren’t? Fuck you.

I don’t know about that. Dys and Ixlone seem to be pretty damn busy with their parts most of the time.

I agree with the majority of the things you said. One thing I don’t agree with is this:

Now I’m not knee-jerk defending Doki here, rather I think that if TL X is not happy with group Y, it could just mean that group Y is not a good fit for X. Group Y doesn’t necessarily need to fix anything; there may simply be a difference in philosophy. Now if group Y can’t hold on to any TLs, that’s an indicator of a problem.
Indeed, PP. I think it’d be naive of anyone to think that any sub group exists as a utopia where all the members have similar personalities and tastes and get on 100% of the time. Any informal group (especially over the internet) will have instances of people not being ‘right’ for the group. The issue in this case comes when people who put a lot of effort into the group don’t feel comfortable there whilst people who just idle and troll people on IRC are comfortable with the fact they’re making no contribution. If you know what I mean?

The problem is that TLs either keep disappearing or get busy irl. TLs are not easy to find. I could have the largest staff number of all groups (I think I may, lol) but if TLs are not pulling their weight, that is something beyond my control. I can teach people how to do everything else, but I can’t teach people Japanese 😛
Did Mimori ever come back? All the projects she was translating (Chibi Devi, Persona, (Haganai?)) seems to have been standing still ever since she disappeared, even though they were relegated to new staff members…

Are there no-one you can get to replace Mimori as a translator for Chibi Devi and Persona? :-/ Just looked at the staff page btw, and noticed that mogu’s status as a Translator and TLC for Haganai and Idolmaster was crossed out, and replaced with “Delays”. I loled. XD I also spotted something that I didn’t notice before though, that defenitely did NOT make me lol. It quite shocked me. “RIP Zero Yuki, you will be missed”. What!? Zero Yuki’s not DEAD is he!? o_o I hope it just means he’s disappeared…
There was some dorama surrounding ZeroYuki’s “departure” a few weeks back.

Nah, I get that TLs have stuff come up in RL but the fact it happens so consistently suggests it’s not just a fluke.

i think it may be time to change your shows status/progress to delayed seeing as how this show/gc/ and a number of other shows share the same fate. it may ease the number of people waiting for shows to stop asking when something is coming out

I don’t think any scripts I wrote for anime would make it to TV. They would all be kind of like Kodomo no Jikan, except completely shameless and with frequent blatant loli nudity. Probably at least 10 nude lolis per episode. And 50 episodes long. My god, you’re right. I DO need to script an anime.
