So, it seems some people aren’t so happy with the way things are going so far. I’m pretty damned happy with it myself. Having played the official English version of the game and the Japanese, I think they’ve done an extraordinary job with it thus far.

what do you mean by the undub version? is there any way to play the us version of this game with jap audio?

You could just make an ISO out of your original US P4 disc and patch it, then play it on an emulator with your own PS2 BIOS.
Just because it’s easier to obtain a copy of an already patched ISO doesn’t mean it’s piracy.

Well i think it may be because the episodes are kinda repetitive, same thing different person but i’ll stick with it hoping that nobody else gets added to the group or that someone evil gets their persona

I haven’t played it, but as far as the anime goes, its just ok. Doesn’t seem highly original or very exciting thus far, and uses a lot of elements from plenty of other anime and manga. It’s a game adaptation after all, so if those who played the game enjoy it, great.
Hopefully there’s some Chie fanservice along the way or something along those lines.

Really? I think they’re doing very poorly, since this isn’t as much an adaptation as it is pretty much copy pasting the game.
With that said, I’m sure you’re seeing where I’m going with this: the MC. You can’t make an animation series out of a game with a silent protagonist without adapting the script somewhat and expect it not to come out awkward. The problem here is even worse since P4 is about all people’s inner selves and character growth, so Narukami has no presence at all. He’s Izanagi’s morning call… and that’s pretty much it.
I mean… the show is not horrible or anything. It’s just a waste of time. It’s like watching someone play a game you’ve beat like five times. And the guy who’s playing is inside a bubble so you can’t interact with him at all.
Just my two cents.
I agree with your assertion that it seems to be sticking pretty close to the game. This is coming from me, who has never played the game XD. I won’t say it is done very poorly. In the end it is the expectations that makes the most difference when making ones impression of an anime, not so much the anime’s quality itself.
For some, this is good enough. For others, they love it when an anime does not deviate from the original at all. For others still, they want something to beat Fate/Zero this season and get disappointed XD. For me, as someone who has never played the game and have little intention to pick it up, this is great :p. I get to know what the game is like just by watching the anime. It’s not that much different from many other less notable anime that comes up every so often. I found it okay to watch.

Well, I’ve played the game.
It’s not the worst anime that’s out this season, but I definitely wouldn’t list it as my best.
Despite Yuu being the main character, we don’t really get any insight to his thoughts, and I would never pick his decisions. Heh.
Aside from that, sure it’s good, but Personae don’t just rampage around! Only one who are doing any attacks at all are the personae at the moment, leaving weapons on the MC kind of useless.
Random rant.
It’d look pretty damned stupid if the characters stopped every 10 seconds and yelled “JIRAIYA” and made them do an attack.
Hater need to understand that this is based of a game so it’s not like a manga which have lot’s of in between and detail. What do u want them to do, blow off most of the plot in the game and just make it new, if that the case Hater still going to complain. If u don’t like it, moved on. For Persona fan, this is the closest thing we seen to a Great Persona Anime, not like Trinity Soul.
Fast release from Doki. This is an anime made to those who played the game. At least it’s better than other video game to anime adaptations.

i have played the game to the end own it got ever lady in it too so im happy with how the anime going my only question is hope they dont spoil who the killer is too soon for those that has not played the game and great release
Aside from some of the “small” differences between the game & anime I’m really enjoying this so far. This actually motivated me to get my ass back to playing the game and finish it so I can see other changes made.
Coming from someone who has not played the game, I’m really enjoying it so far. Mainly because it is an adaptation of a game and not like a novel or manga.
After all the hype they’ve been building ’til the release, what do they do? Hate on it like Modern Warfare 2 back in 2010. Simply put, if you don’t like it, don’t watch it. Don’t waste your time if you’re just gonna hate it.
Either way, I’m sticking with this to the end. Only got to try out P3P, but I’m starting to like P4 more.

I’m personally loving the series so far. Yes its deviating a bit from the game but between the characters and the music, it brings back great memories. I can’t wait till the re-release of the game on Vita thanks to how much this series made me miss the game.

Personally, I’m not going to be playing the game, as it’s not my thing, so for me, this is as close as I can get, so, I’l TAKE what I can get. It was the same with Valkyria Chronicles and the anime adaptation of that (I love the story, setting, characters and everything else, but I’m not into TBS gameplay. They did a fine job on the anime though.) It’s not as good as the game? So what? It’s not as good, so all you do is complain? You have the wrong expectations, whiners. Adaptations like these are rarely quite as good as the original, and really, that is something that is quite hard to do. That does not mean it’s not a good anime.
