She gets way too much screen time. She’s not a very good character, and to be honest she’s starting to bring the show down (mostly due to her overexposure).
Granted, most of the girls (except Oujo-sama) are kinda so-so, Usami is just the generic tsundere. This show was set up to be about a cross dressing adorable girl, not get turned into generic tsundere gets all the screen time show number 126423.
And there is no problem in being generic. I think it’s even better this way so you don’t expect too much…. The only thing I want to see here is service, and they are delivering it. I’m good with that.
Eh, it’s just a shame when a show could be so much better. Usami is a likeable enough character she could even take over the lead and wind up with the guy in an atypical ending. If this weren’t generic.

I thought the generic theme of this product was supposed to be “She’s very serious (and a little manly), but she’s still a girl and she wants a guy to care for her.” with a few standby girls and some fanservice.
I mean, especially in Japan? “I-I-I’m not doing this for your sake! Be more grateful!” would probably result in a slap or a full-blown breakup. This is the country where fathers won’t even boil the water for their own tea. I was actually struck by how traditional the first girl of “Shuffle!” is. She does *everything*, totally anticipates his mood and his needs.
I do not expect this show to be deep, or strongly traditional. But the rabbit needs to lose a few teeth if she keeps hogging the screen time.

Picture yourself reading, say, “Ai Yori Aoshi”; only like two volumes in, the focus moves to a girl who lives down the hall (and apparently HATES his guts – especially because he has a girlfriend hanging around). From then on, half of all chapters/episodes are devoted to this raging spoiled bitch who’s secretly insecure and deeply attracted to him. I’d probably have burned every one of the books I bought up to that point.
I too wonder as to why the delay. “WhyNot?” fansubs just released episode 11. I’ve watched 1-9 done by Doki Fansubs and really hope they sub & release episode 10 before I give up and go with the other guys.
