Is the movie any different from the TV series season 1?
Movie is just Season 1 packed into 1 hour and 26 minutes. Think of the Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha movie, and how it’s just Season 1 packed into a couple of hours.
But then again, is it completely re-animated and re-written to fit into that 1 hour and 26 minutes or is it just a cut-and-paste that most compilation movies are?
It’s actually the first arc in s1, which is like 6 episodes.
What Holo said…technically it’s the first novel mostly unaltered (just the small addition of scenes showing the always forgotten girl who dies right at the start of the show). The anime mixes the first two novels and reserves and modifies the Friagne battles.
Never saw MGLN. So the example wasn’t helpful. But now I got it with Holo’s reply. Thanks to you both!

also actually, some parts of the movie are rewritten, such as shana and margery daw allieng against friagne instead of beating each other up till the end, and some other parts are changed too. its up to you to decide which version of the story you prefer..
Margery Daw arrived to the city after Friagne **** which is the biggest difference between the novels and the movie. Everything else is fairly loyal to the first novel, including the Trigger Happy insta-summon.
It’s actually much the same as the first half of the first series. I think it covers teh first manga or 2, can’t remember as its been a while since I’ve read them. Movie is hella better quality tho and I think the action scenes are better.
I remember downloaded SS-Eclipse’s release in the past.
