Stupid question but why is the resolution 1920×1038 while it is taged as a 1080p release? And thanks for the release 🙂
Because there is a 21-pixel band on the top and bottom of the video at 1080p. Trimming that band leaves it 1920×1038.

IMO, that’s what the 720p should have instead of FLAC.
I can always encode it to AAC using foobar2000 tho, since it’s lossless.
Gonna buy the Bluray instead. This movie deserves it (saw it at the theater)

Oh lol you Americans will only get it next year, but even if you download it now, BUY IT then if you liked it. If you don’t have a Bluray player, at least buy the DVD to watch it with your family and friends. 🙂
Or you can import it 😛 The European version will be a lot cheaper than the Japanese one (~$35 instead of ~$80), but it will probably be region-locked.

@bob barker: Well, choice is always twofold. From my point of view I see some releases not worth archiving and then two groups (actually three, UTW did it with THORA) that are my favourite – now which should I choose 😀 Anyway, I just finished watching (after some pondering I decided to go with doki, I don’t need french audio/subs and I like FLAC, unlike others ;-)) it and it’s awesome.

As for THORA – well, the web page indeed is in sorry state, but according to anidb they recently released some stuff one of which is Arrietty (with UTW), so maybe they were just on break 😀

Does anyone else notice a wobble in the picture during playback? The picture is shifting up and down slightly at a pretty consistent rate. Is it just a part of the film? I’m using WMP and MPC HC, both show the wobble.

Just finished watching this. It was great! ^^ It’s rather heartwarming. Man, Ghibli movies really are the best. Well most of them, anyway.
Ah, forgot to include my thanks in the post since I’m tired! X/ So, THANKS Doki! ^^ I’m still buying this one once I get the chance though, since I collect in Ghibli movies. I have all of them.
