The story centers around a lazy high school boy named Aikawa Ayumu who gets killed during a spate of mysterious serial killings. However, Ayumu is resurrected as a zombie by a necromancer girl named Yuu, who Ayumu had just met before dying. Ayumu reawakens in a world surrounded by masou shoujo (magically equipped girls) and vampire ninja. Ayumu is assigned the duties of a masou shoujo by a magical warrior girl named Haruna.

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? is an awesome anime! I am surprised to hear that it is the only one you are doing out of the current crop. I figured you would jump at doing Dragon Crisis! as well. These two shows are definitely my two favorites. I also think Rose from Dragon Crisis! is a win for most moe character of the season. She makes me think of Index for some reason.
I think Rio-Rainbow Gate is also worthy of consideration, but it isn’t at the same level as the other two.
Beelzebub also is a winner, but it isn’t really a Doki style anime. If you are a Bleach fan though I would recommend it to you.
Well, this season, Doki will be (for the most part) focusing on finishing the backlog before the Clannad After Story and Lucky Star BD’s are released. We won’t have much time for a second project this season.
With that said, there are other groups which I know of doing Beelzebub, and Bleach. For example, our friends at SGKK Fansubs are currently subbing Bleach, and have also recently picked up Beelzebub and jointed with Tomodachi fansubs.
What! You mean Doki fansubbers have lives? You can’t just spend all your time subbing shows for unappreciative leechers? Ahh, what a world, what a world! Well, if you only have time for one show, I suppose you did pick the best one. I still think you may want to try fitting in Dragon Crisis!, at least watch it. I am by no means a loyal follower of any fansubbing group, but I will state that I always give Doki a look-see when trying to decide on who to go with, and more often than not, your group wins as my group for archiving with. Congrats Doki, for what it is worth. I do appreciate your efforts, and I always seed my torrents 125% so I give back more than I take. Since it is the only contribution I can make I do it gladly.
On an unrelated note. I like your nickname, Pahndamonium. It makes me think of the one my wife uses. She goes by EazilyAmewzed. She likes cats, nyan. :o) If anyone gives a dang, my name, Wuntvor, comes from a character by the author Craig Shaw Gardner, a bumbling apprentice wizard. I know, it isn’t an anime character, but I have been using it for so long it has become my on-line persona. I have been using it since some of you were in diapers, so live with it!
On an even more unrelated note: My anime subbing life would be complete if LE & Frostii would finish subbing Yawara! The show was more popular than Ranma 1/2 during the original airing, you would think some fansub group would finish it! Grumble grumble. The high point of my year? Project Kitteh finished the subbing of Ashita no Nadja. I only had to wait 6 years.
On another unrelated note. Do you, or any fansubbing group you know of, have any plans for subbing Karigurashi no Arrietty? That is one movie I can hardly wait to see!
Well, it really can’t be helped that some anime series are not completed by fansub groups. Fansubbers have lives as you said.
Anyway, Karigurashi no Arrietty does not air until July, so it’s too early to say if anyone’s going to sub it. Perhaps you should check anidb regularly for groups planning to sub the movie. π
I’ll continue doing that. I guess that they won’t release the DVD of Arrietty until after Disney releases it to theaters in the US, UK, and Australia. I wonder who made that decision? I doubt the reverse would be true. “No, you can’t release the DVD of Tangled until it is released to every theater in the world and dubbed in every language first.” Yeah, right. You think we will have to wait a year for Tangled to be released in DVD? Not bleeping likely! Grumble, grumble.
