Here go, our first Autumn 2010 show… I planned to do this, but decided against it when I found out Eclipse were also planning on doing it. But now that Eclipse have gone to a better place (RIP guys! Will miss ya!) I decided to go with the original plan and do it.
We have a new TL (Kaionlriu) who is very enthusiastic on TLing this, so I have good hopes that we can see this through to the end like Campanella. With Suffix (who brought you Chu-Bra!! and Mayoi Neko Overrun!) checking the translations, I am convinced that the accuracy of the subs will be very high.
Did anyone notice the similarity of the BGM to Lucky Star? It was done by the same guy lol.
We will begin the transition from SD Xvid to SD h264. Some will be pleased, others won’t be. Can’t keep everyone happy.
Btw keep the banners coming, some are amazing!

Just curious about the Japanese character that Kyou scribbles over in class at 03:38. I assume it has something to do with little sister, but I can’t read Japanese script, nor can I tell kanji, hiragana, and katakana apart. It would have been a good spot for some sort of translation or note.

It is kanji, and means younger sister.
It appears for a brief second or so, so we decided against a TL note. There is actually a note commented out in the script if you care to demux lol

Kind of surprised Doki picked this one since it’s already quite oversubbed. I have witnessed this trend in Doki’s translators. Most new translators actually disappear after a few episodes. The only translator who seems to be on task is ZeroYuki. But i’m still willing to keep faith in whatever new translators you guys recruited. Just make sure you learn to recruit ones that actually stick to the end.

watched the release and was really surprised by the quality that you peeps put out. Great job, love the typesetting. Still trying to get use to the British English though. I don’t usually see “mom” spelled as “mum” and “fetal” as “foetal”.

why would you sub this just because eclipse is gone ? mazui is also subbing it and their subs are the best out there . and they speedsub . it would be a worthless race . but well doki fans would definetly keep downloading yours . but mazui’s better
By the very definition of a speedsub, certain things are sacrificed. You will realise this when you have your own fansub group.
We sub it because we want to. We will choose how we waste our own free time. ^_^

You guys are all forgetting something important. Mazui isn’t actually a speedsub group in the sense that they’d “sacrifice” something for the sake of speed. It’s just that they actually work efficiently. 8 man-hours is plenty enough for producing high-quality subtitles and an overall high-quality release, and that’s what Mazui does.
Regardless, if the script were to pass through another step or two, the quality would be even higher.
It is sad and funny at the same time to watch trolls…

don’t listen to the Mazui fanboys. they’re just noobs. i watched Mazui’s release and then saw Doki’s release. the english was way more fluent and actually made more sense. i will watch Mazui and Doki, Mazui for speed and Doki for quality.
