Actually, is anyone else having issues playing this? Some of my media players won’t play it at all; another plays it, but the video’s distorted and pixelated. 🙁
1. Make sure you’re not using VLC Player.
2. Check that you have CCCP Codec Pack, or K-Lite Codecs, or Shark007 Codec Pack installed.
3. Check if you have the latest version.
4. If it still doesn’t work, then re-install the latest codecs pack.
5. If it STILL doesn’t work, then ask someone else for technical support.LOL
Like >90% of these problems are solved with one of the above steps ^_-

Well, VLC is the one that it’s pixelating on. I’m on Ubuntu, though, so none of these codec packs are available to me. Just curious if anyone else had this issue, since the vast majority of your releases work excellently, but the odd one (this being one of them) decides not to work properly. Tried funthai’s solution below to no avail either.
… I’ll just have to install CCCP on my old Windows desktop or something 😛

1. Download, compile, build, and install the latest mplayer svn from mplayer’s main site: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html
2. (Optional, but I did it) Download and install the latest smplayer by adding smplayer’s repo to your sources.list in /etc/apt/
3. Reboot (might as well)
4. ???
5. Profit
Why are you having problems with this file? Probably because it was muxed with MKVMerge 4.3.0, which enables header compression by default, and breaks a lot of old and outdated players.
Oh, and yes, use smplayer/mplayer from now on, because vlc SUCKS
Okay, while this didn’t work for me, I still must thank you profusely, because you gave me an idea for how to fix it which *did* work. I just fed the file back into MKVMerge again and remuxed it, and now it plays fine.
And yeah, I use MPlayer by default, but it wasn’t playing it at all

I had problems getting this play using mplayer.
A mkvinfo shows something new:
+ Content encodings
+ Content encoding
+ Content compression
+ Algorithm: 3 (header removal)
A search came up with a solution, use:
mplayer -demuxer lavf
